THE TRAVIS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (TNR) WILL HOLD TWO PUBLIC MEETINGS TO DISCUSS A PROPOSAL TO INCREASE AND/OR CHANGE MOST PARK PERMIT FEES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY PARK SYSTEM. CHANGES ARE PROPOSED TO THE FOLLOWING PERMIT FEES: DAY USE; ANNUAL DAY USE; PEDESTRIAN/BICYCLIST; PRIMITIVE CAMPING; IMPROVED CAMPING; NIGHT DIVE; OVERNIGHT CAMPING FOR LONE STAR OR ANNUAL PERMIT HOLDERS; NEW BOAT TRAILER PARKING FEE; SPORTS/ATHLETIC FIELDS; ADDITIONAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH ATHLETIC FACILITIES; SHELTER/PAVILION RENTALS; CONCESSION BUILDING RENTALS.
THE CURRENT PARK PERMIT FEE STRUCTURE HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE 1993. PARK FEES HELP PAY FOR OPERATING COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PARK FACILITIES. THESE COSTS INCLUDE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE, RESTROOM AND TRASH MAINTENANCE, ATHLETIC FIELD MAINTENANCE, VISITOR PROTECTION AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT. TRAVIS COUNTY RESIDENTS AND PARK USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AT LEAST ONE OF THESE MEETINGS TO HEAR MORE DETAILS AND EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS PROPOSAL.
