Item 38
38. Is to consider adoption of the five dollar county clerk records archive fee as provided by sb 1731. This item really is just for us to adopt the fee. It doesn't address how the fee is budgeted, right? We'll chat with the clerk at some other point? Commissioner Daugherty?
>> that was basically my point, judge. I'd like to look at the probe part of this -- pro part of this. I'm certainly in agreement for the adoption of the five-dollar fee, but that also insin waits that we are -- insinuates that we are -- the backup is pretty big to read through. I've got some questions. So that's the only thing feewise no problem, but I would like to have some discussion about that we are signing off on -- does that make sense to you all?
>> not the budget.
>> not included in budget.
>> the county clerk is preparing something for the budget that has a description in it on what kind of project they're interested in funding out of the fee. That would go to the budget process.
>> and I will also tell you having visited with a whole lot of other county Commissioners and county judges, that unlike other counties, our county clerk is extraordinarily generous with dollars that while she does have a budget and has to come through us to get them approved, the things that share with the general fund related to records management, steve roberg's operation and other things that are one-time cost that quite frankly, the general fund would get stuck with, and we're very lucky in that regard.
>> that was my only concern.
>> the budget would absolutely come through us.
>> I don't know about all of that, but I do approve -- I do move approval of the adoption of the fee.
>> second.
>> any more discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote.
