2011 Travis County Bond Election
Proposition 1:

Road, Drainage, Bridge, Bike/Pedestrian Projects

The Road, Drainage, Bridge, Bike/Pedestrian Proposition allows voters to approve or reject funding for capital improvements which may include the addition of new lanes to existing roadways, construction of new roadways, or the widening of narrow roadways.

Funding has been identified to provide for:

  • the rehabilitation or replacement of substandard bridges
  • improvements to road related drainage
  • pavement reconstruction and the upgrading of substandard roadways
  • new sidewalks and bicycle safety projects that will be identified in partnership with local bicycle advocacy groups

Many of the added lane capacity projects will include the construction of bike lanes and sidewalks.

Private and Public Cost-Sharing Participation:

Many of the 28 projects in Proposition 1 have been identified as having public/private or public/public funding partnerships that provide for leveraging opportunities. These partnerships are contractual agreements formed between the County and the private sector or another public agency that allow for greater participation in the delivery and financing of transportation projects.

Bond Proposition 1 Projects
