Number 2, consider and take appropriate action on proclamation recognizing the Austin Capital City Lions Club for 45 years of dedicated service to the Austin-Travis County community.
We have several persons here to receive this one and should I read the proclamation?
As usual my office got carried away so it's pretty long.
But 45 years is a long time.
It reads: whereas the Austin capital city lions club was chartered by the international association of lions clubs on August 12 in 1967, on the campus of huston-tillotson university sponsored by the west Austin lions club 56 community minded men who were dedicated to the ideals of lionism had the distinction of being the first predominantly african-american club chartered in the state of Texas and the united states.
Today the club has both male and female members.
The late virginia I will c.
Lott, a well known local attorney, served as the club's first president.
Lions are an international network of more than 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries in geographic areas who work together to address the needs that challenge communities around the world.
Whereas on August 11, 2012, the Austin capital city lions club will celebrate 45 years of dedicated service to the Austin-Travis County community.
Whereas since its inception, the Austin capital city lions club has made numerous contributions to projects and fundraising activities.
Whereas over the years the club has donated thousands of dollars to the Austin lions sight conservation committee for the purchase of eyeglasses for needy Austin school children.
The club has participated in and contributed regularly to the lions club international fund, lions international sign conservation project, lions mobile health screening unit, the Texas lions cap in kerrville, Texas, east Austin outprograms that sponsor little league baseball, basketball and other sports.
The club has contributed to the donald houston kidney fund, sickle cell anemia fund, united negro college fund, summer school, student scholarships, central Texas chapter of the american red cross, naacp, Austin adoptive school partners in education program and the Austin area urban league over the past five years the club has given more than $7,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
And whereas it is appropriate that we recognize the distinguished capital city lions club at this noteworthy milestone, applaud them for their outstanding accomplishments and thank them for their dedication to service and commitment to excellence.
Now therefore be it resolved we the members of the Travis County Commissioners court do hereby proclaim August 11, 2012, as capital city lions club day in Travis County and urge all residents of Travis County to join us in commending each member for uncommon diligence and hard work, and I move approval.

>> Second.

>> [applause]

>> Judge Biscoe and members of the Commissioners court, thank you again for proclaiming us today and we're so delighted and happy to be here.
We were here five years ago and we're just so happy to be here again.
Thank you so very much.
Our president is lion mcclure.
Others here are lion edna rambo and, of course, we have the distinguished lion brother who has served as our president on ten occasions, lion abbott walker.
And then, of course, we have the sage among us and he's well known in Travis County and in Austin and around, very fine gentleman.
Of course, mr. Marvin dellis.
I would just like to have if we could, just have our president say a word.
Lion mcclure.

>> County judge and Commissioners court, we're so happy to be here this morning, be able to be present at this occasion.
We want to thank you for all of your cooperation in the past as far as providing a proclamation to our club and honoring us and we hope we'll be here five years in the future.
Applause we thank you very much.

>> Now five years ago you thought we wouldn't be here when you got back, didn't you?
One of us is not going to be here in five years when you come back.

>> Thank you all.

>> Thank you.
All in favor?
That passes by unanimous vote.

>> [applause]

>> Hold it.
Don't run off.
You all are definitely icons in this area.
The many years of service you have given to this community we are grateful for you and for your service.
I would like at this time with the permission of the judge if we could take a picture with you.
I won't be associated with the kind of icons we have today and I know this Commissioners court --

>> [inaudible] for the service that you've given for a long time and for your outstanding continued service.
We appreciate you all very much and I want to let you know that.
Thank you.
I would like to take some pictures with you all.

>> [applause]

July 3, 2012: Travis County Launches New Video Playback System

Our new streaming video system uses a single video clip for each session and items are linked to specific locations on that clip. Some browsers and mobile devices do not recognize the location information and display the entire clip. If this happens the "start time" will help you find your item's video within the larger clip.

If you encounter playback issues check out our video playback help page. If you still encounter problems let us know.

On July 3rd, 2012, Travis County began leveraging free resources by posting Commissioners Court meetings on Youtube. Previously every video clip was edited separately and hosted on the county's video server. The old system also required RealPlayer to view the video clips.

The new systems save time and resources -- and that saves taxpayer dollars!
