We'll take this into executive session under the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act.
Of the four items posted for executive session, we announced two would be postponed or pulled.
25 and 28 we will not discuss.
but 26, receive briefing and take appropriate action circuit of the americas and formula one, consultation with attorney, if we need that item.
And 27, receive briefing from county attorney and take appropriate action on the filing of a brief with the attorney general's office with respect to attorney general opinion request rq-1070-ga regarding when a local government may place expiration dates on regulatory permits, consultation with attorney exception.
And the added item A2, receive briefing and take appropriate action regarding the appeal to district court of the TCEQ's decision to issue a permit to waste management of Texas, inc., for the expansion of the Austin community landfill and we'll take this into executive session under consultation with attorney exception also.
We'll discuss these four items but will return to open court before taking action.

We have returned from Executive Session where we discussed three of the four items that we announced.
We discussed number 20, the matter involving the water quality protection revised rule and in my view no action required today.
We did indicate we would have it on the agenda next week for consideration and action.
And so that is August 7th.
We did not discuss the -- 26, the formula one item.
27 we discussed and that was the matter regarding the filing of a brief with the attorney general's office regarding local government ability tore right to place expiration dates on permits.
I move we authorize the county attorney's office to submit an appropriate brief on behalf of Travis County.

>> Second.

>> Discussion on the motion?
All in favor?
That passes by unanimous vote.
We also discussed item number a 2, the matter involving the appeal to district court of the tceq's decision and the question is whether we will appeal the district court's decision in support of the hearing officer's ruling approving the expansion of the landfill, and we did discuss this item and asked the county attorney a few questions that will take about two weeks to generate answers to and so we'll have this item back on August 14th.
But no further action required today.
Anything else today, y'all?

>> Move adjourn.

>> Second.

>> All in favor?
That passes by unanimous vote.

July 3, 2012: Travis County Launches New Video Playback System

Our new streaming video system uses a single video clip for each session and items are linked to specific locations on that clip. Some browsers and mobile devices do not recognize the location information and display the entire clip. If this happens the "start time" will help you find your item's video within the larger clip.

If you encounter playback issues check out our video playback help page. If you still encounter problems let us know.

On July 3rd, 2012, Travis County began leveraging free resources by posting Commissioners Court meetings on Youtube. Previously every video clip was edited separately and hosted on the county's video server. The old system also required RealPlayer to view the video clips.

The new systems save time and resources -- and that saves taxpayer dollars!
