Y'all are here on 16?

>> 16 is consider and take appropriate action to approve the amended restated Decker Lake Road participation agreement with Club Deal 116 Indian Hills, Texas in Precinct 1.

>>

>> [inaudible].

>> If you give them to me I'll distribute them for you if I could get five copies, one for the clerk down here.

>> Judge, Commissioner, my name is (indiscernible) and I'm with tnr, engineering division manager.
This agenda item is to request court's approval for the amended and restated participation agreement with the developer, club deal 116 indian hills for the decker leak road project.
The scope of this project is a four lane divided arterial from f.m.
973 to sh 130.
It would have four 12-foot lanes divided median, sidewalk on both sides, so a bike lane.
It's about 3500 feet long.
The original participation agreement with the developer was entered into in 2006.
Under that agreement the developer will donate the right-of-way and share the engineering and construction cost 50/50 with the county.
And subsequent to that the city of Austin realized -- recognized that this is also important arterial project that will connect to sh 130.
And interlocal agreement was entered between the county and the city.
Under that agreement the city is willing to share the construction cost with the developer and the county.

>> Media, can you give mr. Sun a little more volume?

>> And so therefore the county will be shared -- county, city and the developer will be sharing one-third of the construction cost each for this project.
The developer of this project was complete last year and because the project would have to tie to state highway 130 and also f.m.
973, so a permit from txdot is required.
Under this permit requirement, txdot require additional turn lane, left turn lane and right turn lane to be installed at intersection going into the new decker lake road because the existing f.m.
973 is a very narrow two lane road.
So turn lane at intersection is required and also some other improvement on the west side of the decker lane road is also required by txdot.
Therefore the project scope of work was slightly increased and therefore the construction cost was also increased.
Therefore this -- therefore the county had this revised amended and restated restateagreement with the develr for this scope of work at the intersection and also to increase the construction cost from the original three million dollars to four million dollars.
And also because of additional time required for this redesign the construction schedule was also revised.
The new schedule required the construction to start in August this year.
So next month the developer will be ready to award the contract to the contractor and then begin the construction.
Therefore we are requesting the court to approve this participation agreement and to proceed for the construction of this project.

>> I understand that with this amended portion of this particular project, which is a real good deal, especially with the left and right turn lane feeding into the project area off 973, you understand if that plaques place place with approval of this the actual notice to proceed will actually start, what, next week or when?

>> You know in about next week.
We are ready.
The bid has been received and so we also are waiting for the deposit and the cash deposit from the developer and also the city's participation funds for this project and therefore will be ready to issue the notice to poe for this project.

>> And understand that the length of this four-lane endeavor all the way down 130 from 973 with the notice to proceed would take about one year from what I understand for this particular project to be complete.
That has been brought to my attention.
Is that correct?

>> Yes.
Yeah.
I think it's about 3500 feet long and a four-lane road.
And yeah, it should be complete less than one year.

>> Okay.
Well, I'd like to move approval of item 16.
And that we go ahead and move forward with this particular amendment on that particular agreement.

>> Second.

>> Seconded by Commissioner Gomez.
These are bond funds, voter approved bond funds?

>> Yes, 2005 bond funds.

>> 1.34 million.

>> Yes.

>> Okay.
Discussion?
All in favor?
That passes by unanimous vote.

July 3, 2012: Travis County Launches New Video Playback System

Our new streaming video system uses a single video clip for each session and items are linked to specific locations on that clip. Some browsers and mobile devices do not recognize the location information and display the entire clip. If this happens the "start time" will help you find your item's video within the larger clip.

If you encounter playback issues check out our video playback help page. If you still encounter problems let us know.

On July 3rd, 2012, Travis County began leveraging free resources by posting Commissioners Court meetings on Youtube. Previously every video clip was edited separately and hosted on the county's video server. The old system also required RealPlayer to view the video clips.

The new systems save time and resources -- and that saves taxpayer dollars!
