Number 3, receive comments regarding a proposed street name assignment for an easement off Lohmans Ford Road and a street name change from Valley Hill Drive in Point Venture.

>> Move the public hearing be open.

>> Second.

>> Joining me is steven oliver, representing the folks who petitioned the county to make this action to rename this road or name a portion of it.
Gala is handing out a map which will help to clarify what's going on because it's a little complicated, but essentially you have an easement out there that has no name.
That's the longer red line.
At the end of that at the bottom you will see a yellow strip of roadway.
That has a name but needs to be renamed with that easement to make sense.
There are four property owners involved in this that abut the roadway.
Three of them have responded affirmatively that they are in agreement with the name change.
One we have not heard back from and that's a developer.
Mr. Oliver here can give you some history about it if you need it and we would recommend the name change.

>> Do we need the history?

>> If you have any questions regarding the history, I'm more than happy.
We think this is a public safety issue and are all in favor of it.
If you have any questions, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

>> I'm curious how you came up with the name district lane.

>> My client came up with it.
It was more of a battle to come up with a name than we would have anticipated.

>> This is a opportunity for public input.
If you would like to give comments on this item, please come forward at this time.
Mr. Reeferseed.

>> Thank you, sir.
Ms. Huber is already speaking my mind.
I'm wondering what could be less imaginative or more or I can't imagine a less joyful name.
What does it mean, district, county, who came up with that?
What was the process to say this is good?

>> The property owners.

>> The property owners thought that up.
The three that agree to this?

>> Uh-huh.

>> Some of these names are meant to vex strangers, aren't they?

>> Some wild names out there.

>> Also getting harder and harder --

>> The only thing, the length of this would be

>> [inaudible].
District came out of that.

>> Any or comments?

>> Move the public hearing be closed.

>> Second.

>> All in favor say aye?
That passes by unanimous vote.

July 3, 2012: Travis County Launches New Video Playback System

Our new streaming video system uses a single video clip for each session and items are linked to specific locations on that clip. Some browsers and mobile devices do not recognize the location information and display the entire clip. If this happens the "start time" will help you find your item's video within the larger clip.

If you encounter playback issues check out our video playback help page. If you still encounter problems let us know.

On July 3rd, 2012, Travis County began leveraging free resources by posting Commissioners Court meetings on Youtube. Previously every video clip was edited separately and hosted on the county's video server. The old system also required RealPlayer to view the video clips.

The new systems save time and resources -- and that saves taxpayer dollars!
