Agenda

A1, consider and take appropriate action regarding Travis County seal for new Commissioners courtroom.
there is a seal for the Commissioner courtroom.
you met as a subcommittee of the court met with our consultants, in order to expand the seal from the current size to an enlarged version, the ends just didn't d not remain the same.
instead of being pointed, they were more rounded.
so what we have tried to do is tweak the seal to make it as close as possible to the original, but something that we want.
we thought we ought to bring it back to the court for the court to take a look at it.
not to steal your thunder, but I thought I would update the court.
now, thunder!

>> thunder!

>> that is correct, judge.

>> thank you.

>> judge and Commissioners, we'll be brief.
as you accurately stated, when we took the county seal and enlarged it to the true seal that will object floor of the hall of government, we found that some of the images that are fairly iconic and used to became distorted.
tractor wheels that were round were square.
the deer antlers looked like they were through a nuclear accident.

>>

>> [indiscernible]

>> so, anyway, it was clear we needed to do something.
tom cornelius is here with me from gsc architects and bill mcicant from our office.
we want to show you what it looks like full scale.
this is actually what you will be seeing on the floor.
it is more of an informational item than anything else.
project overall is moving along just fine.
we're on schedule, within budget.
expect to have it all in first part of August.
we will answer questions about the seal.
tom has information about the seal if you choose to ask about that.
not a big item, but wanted you to see it.

>> we want to point out the information we passed out to you is more current than the seven-foot seal on the floor.
we made certain improvements to it.
for the discerning eye, you may be able to see differences.
what you have in front of you is more current.

>> because when we order the seal, it didn't cost a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but the same time, it will cost.

>> there is a cost to that, and it will be etched in stone, so to speak.

>> yeah, yeah, so we thought the court should see.
we have come as close as possible to the original version, but enlarged.
questions, comments?

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> I told the Commissioner he would defer to our judgment, she said at times y'all are very particular, so we put it on the court's agenda.
all those in favor.
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> thank y'all.

>> where did you get a printer.

>> a paper.

>> a little bit of tape.

>> thank you.
