Travis County Commissioners Court
May 22, 2012 - Item 10
Agenda
Item 10 is to consider and take appropriate action on a contract budget amendment number one, with Texas department of housing and community affairs for the department of energy weatherization assistance program for 2011-2012.
judge, my question is remaining the same as toward the essence of all of this.
if you can state the overlay, I guess some of the things here for 10 and 11.
just the essence of it and what it actually does.
I would appropriate that.
>> well, items 10 and 11 are relative to a federal pass-through grant received by the state of Texas for improvement to our residents' homes, primarily weatherization, to improve and hopefully reduce the energy burden on residents by making selected weatherization improvements like caulking, solar screens, and items of that nature.
these two items are on your agenda today because we are in the close out period for this grant for what would technically be 2012, even though it extends into March.
and as can you imagine, as we are closing out a grant, the line items generally don't end up exactly where we predicted that they would.
so the state allows us to notify them of this fact and within our system, it requires an amendment to the contract.
we are expending the full grant.
we're not overspending the grant.
we're within our budgeted amount.
this action today would merely amend the contract so we can make, with the state, the necessary line item changes to match our final close out report.
>> move approval.
I wanted to lay that out.
the best can you, for this item, because we didn't it will them.
but anyway, move approval.
I wanted to make sure it laid out correctly.
I appreciate that.
>> second by Commissioner Gomez.
discussion?
all those in favor.
that passes by unanimous vote.
