>> we need you back in here, ms. Fleming.
>> sorry to cut you off.
>> it is okay.
>> just a common question for item 7, 10, and 11, and the common question is, do they basically tell us the significance of that and who they are going to serve for those particular --
>>
>> reporter: what is the significance of the initiative in item 7, who will be served?
>> who will be served.
yes.
>> seven, 10, 11.
>> item 7 is a we are proposing to assist the community with.
in program serves elderly and disabled residents in our community who require assistance of representative payers and these are essentially volunteers but the funding is to employ a case manager who then supervises a team of volunteers, up to 45 volunteers per person, to actually pay the residents necessary bills: rents, utilities, those types of things, to ensure that persons can maintain their housing, maintain their utility service.
there are several of our partners who already invest in this service.
we were notified by the community, this was a community -- there was a community committee which was a mother of the ending chronic homelessness coalition that has vetted this issue and came forward and supported this request.
and I believe those persons are in the other room, if you'd like to hear from them.
oh.
here they are.
>> what is the plan for funding for the rest of 2012?
>> the plan for the balance of this fiscal year is to identify funds from the current health and human services budget, to fund this request and there is a companion can submitted by the department in the fy '13 budget process.
>> do you have any questions?
>> I want to make sure that the other -- of the services actually stemmed -- extend services to the seniors and the disabled in the community?
I think it is very significant.
>> and we have here.
>> I second Commissioner Gomez motion to approve.
you want us to approve this, right?
>> yes, sir.
>> all those in favor.
