Travis County Commissioners Court
April 10, 2012 - Citizens Communication
Agenda
Citizens Communication is first.
this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda with the following three individuals please come forward at this time: gus pena is our first speaker, ronnie reeferseed is our second and john k.
kim.
>> good morning, judge, Commissioners.
gus pena, proud marine corps veterans, proud east Austinite.
I'd like to say I know this item is not on the agenda.
it should be open to the public regarding the circuit of the americas.
customer Eckhardt, I listened to your comments very closely.
you are right on target.
I think -- I don't know.
to me something just doesn't sound right or appropriate, but the request for funding from Travis County.
we had enough people already asking for freebies.
but we have people that are homeless, we have people that are not working, we have people that basically are in need.
and so I would ask that y'all do due diligence and bear this in mind when you are speaking about with this in executive session.
this actually should be in open court.
anyway, I've said that already.
I just -- the fiasco, I've had enough of that already.
economic development, jobs, jobs, jobs, a living wage with benefits.
more funding for summer jobs for the youth.
I hope you expand the positions.
housing.
there is a lack of affordable housing.
many people are becoming homeless because the rent is going sky high and not too many of our people can afford it.
there is no more middle income.
you just have the rich and the poor.
and a lot of the people are just becoming poor.
please support and show your appreciation for those serving in the military, especially troops returning from iraq and afghanistan.
a lot of our troops have ptsd, substance abuse counseling.
they need counseling.
affordable housing with jobs with a living wage.
please volunteer to mentor or tutor students.
judge, I think when y'all have that meeting with city and aisd, there's a lot of things brought up, mentors and tutors.
we're entering the last six weeks of the regular school year.
a lot of students need help in math, reading, comprehension.
please volunteer especially for the seniors who need help to graduate, they need the extra help.
social services agencies are inundated for help.
caritas, you call and by 8:00, they need a lot of help.
please donate food to the food banks but remember those on special diets with food that is low in sodium and low in sugar.
they need our help.
a lot of people are going to the food bank.
you've seen it on television, it's a big line.
judge and Commissioners, this is from the Austin american-statesman, and I know I don't need permission to show it --
>> [buzzer sounding] but Austin unprepared for a wave of poor seniors.
a society's worth is measured by its treatment of the less fortunate.
thank you, have a good day.
>> thank you, mr. Pena.
mr. Reeferseed.
>> thank you, sir.
hallelujah, yes, I'm ronnie reeferseed singing praises and appreciation to all my friends especially including helping hands ministry.
sadly our so-called president war pig barry sotaro, a mere subject to the queen of england, thus ineligible is hatefully promoted to racial hatred and not only against muslims worldwide.
anything to keep this bankster stooge in office.
death and destruction to our constitution guarantees more death and destruction to you and me.
that's the program, worldwide extermination.
wake up, people.
hand in hand or should I say fist in claw with death merchants like the baby killers, that truly evil planned parenthood.
so-called president pays peaceprize.
for years black babies are more likely to be exterminated in the womb than allowed to be born.
proof positive that pro-abortion pushers are pleased as punch with president peace prize death wishes.
that's right, they want us all dead sooner rather than later under the guise of a so-called green planet.
public schools are teaching to our kids we all have to die for the planet to survive.
sorry, charlie, it's the other way around.
especially here with our precious u.s.
constitution.
you see, our founding fathers had it right to protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and we have to limit the evil power of government.
that's why the tenancy of tyrants was delegated to the congress.
not the potentially dictatorial executive no matter what color he is.
study the words of wisdom of martin luther king, jr., quoting gandhi that nonviolent persuasion is the only way to go.
stop the killing.
that's it.
protect and celebrate all human life during our loving stewardship of our precious u.s.
constitution.
that means we can no longer sit on our butts and expect someone else to be sure it's okay.
that's why everybody here must do whatever we can to elect soon to be mayor clay dafoe.
clay dafoe is already doing way more than his fair share to preserve life and love here and ob-gyn dr. Ron paul has been leading by example for decades helping to deliver life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to all.

we all need to learn more to do more, myself included.
celebrate reality no matter how grim because we can.
life is a gift.
don't waste it.
>> [buzzer sounding] thank you.
>> thank you, mr. Reeferseed.
dr. Kim.
>> good morning.
I really appreciate all of you.
I have here to appreciate america and praise america.
and I swear I will do my best for the rest of my life to protect america, to protect american people as our last protect other country, other country's people as well so that they shall not take america or american people whatever.
