View captioned video.

Citizens communication is next.
this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda.
sign-in slips number 1 and 3 have disappeared.
if you have sign-in slips 1 and 3, come forth.
otherwise ronnie reeferseed, number 4.
morris priest number 6.
slip number 5 also is not here.
7 is gus pena.
8 is richard mcdonald.
mr. Reeferseed.

>> thank you, sir.
rejoice.
I'm ronnie reeferseed rattling off a few more facts good ob-gyn dr. Ron paul's revolution of love for liberty in our precious u.s.
constitution and yes, it's happening, people know.
our shamingly seemless propaganda will never give me, you, anyone else permission to support the doctor so please stop waiting for it.
it's not going to happen.
ob-gyn dr. Ron paul has so far delivered, by the way, well over 4,000 babies into our world and is right now delivering his message stop the killing.
killing more people in more countries with more lame excuses only helps the united states earn more hatred from more enemies.
for generations to come.
stop it!
no more excuses.
wake up.
there is one and only peace candidate.
look, so-called president so-called peace prize is committing even more war crimes against our precious u.s.
constitution.
every day is on the news -- his new scheme ology is treasonous ways.
for example, fast and if you furious.from both the republic democrats and demublicans.
not even blatantly purchasists dripping in blood from previous evil.
eric holder, the blood money is incalculable in losses.
in my opinion, stop the killing, sing it loudly, we must be heard.
we can't stop it.
just think of the babies.
I have a bumper stick on with a photo of a weeping father holding a lifeless body of his young daughter "you paid israel to kill this child." we do every day extend our counterproductive war on decency, on life, on islam, on peace, love, understanding.
our war on absolutely freedom for farmers.
the so-called president can double the number of full-time farmers in the united states by legalizing hemp marijuana.
overnight.
that's one million new full-time jobs, people.
imagine, our nation leading the word once again by example, not bulletin bombs.
we must stop can killing because we don't have the right -- we must stop the killing.
embrace life.
let us all celebrate the gift from god our blessings, our blessings with joy no matter how every baby, no matter how disabled, deserves devotion, love and support from all of us.
at the very least do your part.

>> [buzzer sounding] "-.

>> thank you, mr. Reeferseed.
morris priest is next followed by gus pena.

>> thank you, judge, Commissioners, morris priest speaking on my own behalf.

on the city's agenda this coming Thursday we will repeal bill spell man's agenda item to put signs on

>> [indiscernible].
I went to the human rights commission this past Monday and talked about the atrocities of our campo not giving out backup material among other things.
one of the things that they are doing is violating their bylaws on a continual basis as well as the environmental justice title 6 which is one of the topics that I discussed about at that meeting last night at the human rights commission.
there is no dialogue and the verbal input is required by federal mandate and it's even in their literature that your input whether verbal or written is needed.
and so they've constantly either kept us from speaking or not providing backup and hopefully we can get that changed at this coming meeting.
the comment period should be 45 days.
but I did want to remind people again to log on to put kids first.
go to the August 26th airing of waiting for super man at 11:45.
call peggy at 476-5905.

>> [buzzer sounding] but anyway, thank you.
god bless you.

>> thank you, mr. Priest, gus pena.

>> good morning, judge.
gus pena, proud united states marine corps veteran.
Austin energy, the fiasco.
judge, Commissioners, please if possible let's put citizens communication beforehand.
we have very limited speakers and obviously we had a big public hearing.
I have things to do.
I don't have time to spend here an hour, hour and a half, but I really do appreciate the time to speak.
the fiasco of Austin energy rate hike proposal, it ain't a good process.
lack of leadership, lack of transparency by the mayor and many city councilmembers and not doing their job to hold Austin energy accountable.
we do need a slight increase.
we don't need an increase they were recommending.
unemployment more than 9%.
a lot of people have given up.
those people do not apply for unemployment compensation are not included in the unemployment rate.
the unemployment rate is more than 9%.
I hope our officials really recognize the fact that we are hurting community here in Austin.
veterans, homeless veterans, many increasing veterans with families that are becoming homeless.
I hope this last homeless count was fruitful.
I doubt it.
you ain't going to reach all the homeless veterans.
you are not counting the right places.
lack of affordable housing.
not too many units going up that are affordable.
apartments/condos very expensive, people can't afford them.
jobs, jobs, jobs for the children, the students, anybody.
we all need jobs out there that pay good wages and benefits.
summer job program, we respectfully ask you would increase the funding and number of slots for students or kids or youth that want to be employed by the city/county.
kids, students need jobs.
they will work hard.
they are good workers.
mentors and tutors, volunteer to become a mentor or tutor.
we're losing a lot of kids to the dropout rate.
they don't want to go to school because they cannot learn the math proposed and dictated by the state of Texas.
I spoke to Commissioner scott.
mentors and students volunteer.
millennium youth center, a shoutout to melissa silas.
trying to change the way the millennium youth center is running.
keep it like it is.
good leadership.
thank you, vanessa.
midnight basketball.
james silas, former san antonio spur is a basketball player, keep a lot of young adults off the streets playing basketball.
give them jobs.
one last thing that I want to say is this, judge, Commissioners, we need your leadership at the city council.
I've never said this before, maybe I have, but not as critical as I am now, I'm sick and tired of our elected officials on the city level and some on the county level that don't respect the public in the speaking process.
I'm former department of treasury and justice.
a lot of our rights to speak are being taken away.
that's not good.
you have a lot of veterans that fought in vietnam.
they can't speak for themselves, they need a lot of help coming back.
a society's worth is measured by its treatment of less fortunate.
thank you very much.

>> richard mcdonald.
richard mcdonald.
bob barnes.
bob barnes.
anybody else for citizens communication?
