Travis County Commissioners Court

December 27, 2011 (Agenda)
Item 7

View captioned video.

Number 7 is to approve collateral assignment agreement between Travis County, fotowatio, renewable venture llc, solar farm, and wells fargo bank.
your question, mr. Reeferseed?

>> my question is it's really more of a comment in that it's not --

>> hold on one second.
did y'all want to give comments?
you're just here on one item, right?

>> we're here to answer questions

>> [ inaudible ]

>> thank you for bringing it to us.

>> happy new year to y'all.

>> happy new year to everybody.
and about number 7, it's a great example of how we're -- this is not your money.
this is the taxpayer money.
we're blowing it giving these huge deals to these -- the solar farm.
I mean, it sounds good.
we want to be on top of that kind of thing, but we're wasting taxpayer money out the wazoo, not just number 7, we're not talking about it today, but 12 and 13 are others.
we start thinking of this money as your money.
that's what I'd really appreciate.
I think all taxpayers would stand with me on this, that these wasteful, trivial schemes that these people come up with that just get more tax money is just -- it's a crime.
and so I'm sorry, I don't have anything prepared for it, but number 7 is a really good example of how it's real clear that it's not your money, that --

>> did you have a chance to read the backup, mr. Reeferseed?
have you read the backup for number 7.

>> I'm sorry, no.

>> any other comments?

>> no.

>> marietta, does Travis County give any money to fotowatio or the new signers of the contract?

>> we the original agreement under which there would be -- if they meet their obligations there would be some rebate.

>> there would be some beneficial tax treatment, but no -- no general funds transferred.

>> no general funds paid.

>> we move approval of item number 7.

>> second.

>> discussion on the motion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
