Consent

View captioned video.

The consent items are next and posted for consent are c 1 and c 2.
any issues with either of those?
let's consider adding the following to the consent agenda.
I'm about to list a long list of items to be included on one motion.
if you would like for us to discuss any of these items separately, please say so as I call out the number of the item.
number 4.
5.
6.
7.
by the way, on 7 a source of funding is from the seton reserve, we call it.
number 9.
10.
11.

>> was there any backup on that item?

>> it came a bit late but there was backup.
should we delay?
call it up later?

>> I mean it's usually a no brainer but I would like to receive the backup earlier than the day before the meeting.
I didn't have any opportunity to review it at all.

>> okay.

>> but I will go on faith that this list of option items is perfectly fine because it usually is.
but really, the day before is just not good enough.

>> it's long too.
it must be a couple hundred items here.
mr. Reeferseed, I see an extra cope with your name on it here.

>> actually is this my number 9?

>> yes, sir.
I got tired of giving you my copy so I started making one for you.
how is that?

>> you are ahead of the game, I tell you.

>> that's 11.

>> oh, okay.

>> are we okay with number 11?

>> I will take it on faith.
I'm not going to hold up the court for a surplus list.

>> number 12.

>> I would like to call that up.

>> call that up.
okay.
13.
a and b.
number 14.

>> I don't have a problem with consent but I would like to make a comment.

>> we'll call it up.
15.

>> this again is I didn't get backup on in a timely manner.
it came in yesterday and I was swamped and backed up from the day before, it's just not doable.
I have it now but I haven't read it.

>> this is recommended by the purchasing board, isn't it?

>> well, actually no, that's being paid for by the folk who invited our purchasing agent and this would cost the county I think $115.
we pick up one -- one day of hotel accommodations at a cost of -- I thought it was 115 bucks.
but the other expenses will be picked up by the people who invited our purchasing agent to speak.
do we need to call it up separately?

>> no, we don't have to call it up separately.
I just kind of want to make sure I know a little -- I guess because of no backup, I need to kind of know whatever information is picked up at this conference or this particular place can be shared with the whole court.

>> right.

>> I would like to call it up separately because, you know, if you don't get backup until the day before, I think you need to come and present.

>> we'll call it up separately.
and it was $215.

>> and both of the items were both from purchasing.
these are usually rather detailed and we almost always take them consent because they are detailed and good backup, but I can't possibly know if I didn't have the time to read them.

>> number 18.
19.
20.

>> I'd like to call that up.

>> 20 we'll call up separately.
22.
21.
yeah, 21.
I had -- I didn't understand my own writing on 21 there.
so from 19 we go to 21.
then 22.
24.
25.
27.
for t.n.r., we were asked to appoint a person and I guess the other two are alternates, which should be fine with the committee, but I think we should indicate that the order that they are listed is the order in which we plan to appoint these county representatives, right?

>> actually, judge, I spoke with the group that has asked for these folks, and the city of Austin, for example, has six folks who will be sitting on these panels.
and I discussed what level or what type of expertise they are looking for and it's pretty broad.
so between the three of us, we would all attend the meetings and we would each bring or own unique background to it.
if we don't need all three, then we can back off, but right now we would like to have all three available to attend these meetings.
we're talking four meetings over the next 15 months half ah day apiece.

>> let's appoint all three.
remember the other county work that needs to take place.

>> thank you, sir.

>> 29.
31.

>> 28 is not on consent?

>> hold on.
no, 28 is not consent.
28 has quite a few issues.
29.
issues that we need to discuss, I think.
30.
by the way, on 30, we have another appointment that we need to fill.
re need to reappoint what's his name?

>> matt snap who is the chair.

>> so that would be one of the reappointments we need to take and probably be good to post that next week, but I promised mr. Evans, the director, that we would go ahead and move on the county vacancies.
so 29, 30 and 31.
and those are the last ones that I recommend.

>> move approval of consent items.

>> you have heard the ones we listed.
does anyone want to pull any of them for separate discussion?

>> number 9

>> [inaudible].

>> okay, let's hear what you would like to say on that, mr. Reeferseed.
by the way, we have 16 of these contracts in place and this would be number 17.
and what this enables small cities in Travis County to do is to become part of the Travis County emergency operations plan.
so that's in place already, but it's costly to put them in place and a lot of the small counties cannot afford to do that so they simply serve under our umbrella.
that frees them up to do their own tailored emergency plan of whatever they would like.
what are your comments?

>> great, well, I want to specifically speak on this issue and I'm ronnie reeferseed, and the reason I'm speaking to it is because this is literally in my neighborhood.
and this is walking distance from my house.
and I just wanted to make sure that, like you said, it's -- it was -- sounds serious steps being taken in relation to a big tragedy.
just curiosity.

>> this plan is required by the state.
you should feel more comfortable tomorrow morning.

>> second chair with my neighbors or is that already available on line about all this?
I guess they already know.

>> why don't you and mr. Baldwin huddle and he will give you all the information you need about accessing the plan.
any other items by anybody else?
all in favor of the motion?
that passes by unanimous vote.
