any questions for our purchasing agent?
>> cyd, I haven't had an opportunity to read this backup because it came in yesterday and frankly I was up to my eye balls in a bunch of campo stuff so can you describe what this item is?
>> the canadian council for public-private partnerships has invited me to come to their 19th annual conference.
apparently they know that we are planning to build a courthouse and so they have a panel discussing the title of it as balancing -- I had it rate here.

>> balances the scales of justice project and there's a panel, myself who is down here on the scale of zero experience, I know all the procurement efforts and canada and officials that have been doing it for years and years, p 3s, made contacts with over the last year, four years about public-private partnerships.
so it's an opportunity to go and learn more than to educate because I'm not going to educate them much, but there's someone on the panel from the long beach project, I believe a waterly project which I'm not sure -- I don't think any of them are courthouses at the long beach, as I think susan and others have said that the long beach model and the brooklyn middle and then in north carolina for some of the courthouse projects.
so it is an opportunity to go and learn, and they are paying -- they are waiving the conference fees.
they are paying for my airfare and they are paying for two nights hotel, but because of the schedule I couldn't get back that Tuesday night.
so that's why I'm asking the court, and because it's the budget, you know, I have the budget, but the budget rules say the Commissioners court has to approve out of country travel expenses so that's why I put it on the agenda.

the information that you gather, will that be able to be shared with the entire court?
>> yes, and our courthouse team, our entire team.
>> I would like to set up a meeting to see what you learned.

I just hope it doesn't snow and I get stuck up there in the ice.
I'm not an ice person.
