>> let's call to order the Travis County Austin housing finance corporation.
item 1 is to consider and take appropriate action on request to approve modification number 2.
to contract with outside auditor, ashley and associates, llp.

>> good afternoon.
this is basically to get your approval on an engagement letter to a contract with ashley and associates who is our auditor for the corporation.
you originally approved the contract in July of 2009 and it requires an engagement letter be approve every year.
the contract run for five years and there are no major changes to contract other than the dates.

>> comments or questions?

>> move approval.

>> discussion on the motion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
number 2, consider and take appropriate action on request from -- for Austin housing finance corporation to jointly host the national association of local housing finance agencies spring 2012 educational conference with the capital area housing finance corporation.
the city of Austin's neighborhood housing and community development department too.

>> and back in April or may, you approved our membership in naltha.
and we've been approached by the group and they're out of dc and looking to host their annual spring conference in Austin in April or may of next year.
and they have asked if we would be willing to co-host, co-sponsor the event with capital area finance corporation along with the city of Austin's ahfc.
judge, when you first approved the membership, you asked me to keep you informed of the benefit to the county, and I believe this would be a great benefit for the corporation as well as the county in terms of exposure.
it would give you, if you wanted, an opportunity to speak to the conference attendees.
it would give all of you an opportunity to attend a national educational conference right here at home without the expense of travel.
we would be asked to help with marketing, bringing in sponsors, coordinating walking and bus tours of the city of Austin developments as well as Travis County's housing developments.
they would be looking for some volunteer time from our staff at the conference itself in terms of manning the registration tables.
we would also be going after guest speakers and panel speakers.

>> what kind of financial contribution do you think they may be bold enough to ask for?

>> I can tell you the city has already said they cannot give anything financially.
capital area will contribute.
I'm not sure the amount right now.
we're not expected to contribute anything financially.
of course, later on in the process if we decide we can, they would be very appreciative of that, but all they're looking for is mostly volunteer hours from us and kind of pulling the whole thing together.

>> okay.
normally I don't recommend following the city on everything, but when they say we won't give a financial contribution, next time just chime right in.
ditto for the county.

>> noted.

>> questions, comments?

>> looks like a great opportunity for collaboration.

>> absolutely.
we've been looking to do that for awhile, so I think this will get the ball rolling on that for future endeavors.

>> don't let your dad steal all the thunder.

>> that would be hard.

>> when I say keep me posted, I really mean keep the whole board posted.

>> understood.

>> move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
do not make a financial commitment without us.

>> are we adjourned?

>> second.

>> all in favor?
that carries unanimously also.
