37 is consider and take appropriate action on order approving the Travis County budget for fiscal year 2012.

>> leroy nellis, Travis County acting for planning and budget.
I would just like to take a moment to recognize the cooperation that all of the departments have given us this year, and not only this year but the last 18 that I've served as your budget director.
especially the county auditor's office.
and this year with david youngerman as the new head of the revenue section, he has worked very closely with us and carolyn dameron over the last 18 years.
and all of susan's staff, nickie and diana and everybody.
I would like to individually recognize my staff.
I have a super staff this year.
the cash investment management department did go back through the bidding -- of our depository account and I would like to recognize debbie laudermilk and her assistant reagangrimes.
and she's been working on the downtown master plan.
our newest addition to our staff is jeremy broadhead.
you know, chris brussard was my first hire in planning and budget over 17 years ago and he ran the i.t.
function.
he was transferred to the befit, but he did assist during this budget cycle and jeremy was hired to replace him and I can say that he is a fast understudy and was able to spin the numbers for us.
andrea shields, right here, our new corporation manager, and she replaced harvey Davis that had been here for years doing a fantastic job.
and then the individual members of my budget staff.
on the far right deanna ramirez, katy peterson, travis gatlin, randy lott, bill derrbberry and jessica rio.
and I do want to extend my appreciation to all my staff members who have worked exceedingly hard and during this budget cycle.

>> and I want to thank you too.

>> [applause]

>> and leroy, congratulations for getting beyond the statute of limitations for having been prosecuted for hiring chris as an underage.

>> [laughter]

>>

>> [inaudible].

>> last but not least yolanda reyes.
all of us couldn't do anything without yolanda doing all the scheduling and running our entire office.
so I apologize.
it was not meant to be.
so I think that you do have the motions that are before you.
I might say that the proposed budget was filed with the county clerk, which last Friday as statutorily prescribed.
we do have a new fund, fund 503, that of the established just recently by the county auditor, and it was not in the fifth revenue estimate because of the recensc, she has amended that to include 503 in the transportation and natural resource.
that's a special revenue fund with an amount of 796,164.
I think a number of y'all are familiar with that transaction.
it has to do with the parks and an easement that was purchased by outside.
and so I will need to recommend to you --

>> 167 instead of 164?
is that what travis is telling you about?

>> yes.

>> $796,167.
right?

>> right.

>> so the motion to amend --

>> 167.

>> we need a motion to amend th budget to include the new line item 503 in the amount that we just talked about.

>> that's correct.

>> second, judge.

>> that's the motion.
seconded by Commissioner Davis.
discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
now, do we need a motion to approve the total 2012 budget, which would include this amount just amended?

>> the motion to approve the budget.

>> so moved by the county judge.

>> second.

>> seconded by Commissioner Davis.
discussion on the motion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
