Tuesday, September 27, 2011 (Agenda)
Item 20

View captioned video.

Now, we have long awaited getting to item number 20.
and number 20 is to approve the following extensions to contract number 02t0000, that's four, 5oj, united health care insurance company.
a, 12 months extensions, modification 11, for, one, cobra administration services agreement.
two, customer reporting system internet access agreement.
should we go ahead and read b and c too?

>> yes, please.

>> b, twelve month extension modification number 13 for administrative services agreement.
and c, one-month extension modification number 11 for, c-1, stop loss agreement for Travis County employees, retirees and their dependents.

>> bonnie floyd, purchasing office.
this contract provides group health benefits for Travis County employees, retirees and their dependents.
a, 1 and 2.
and b-1 are twelve-months extensions.
I will let bash ba talk about the admin services which is b-1.
c is a one-months extension on a stop loss agreement.
we have issued a new solicitation, proposals for opened yesterday and we received six proposals for stop loss.
we should be be bringing in a new contract back for that some time within the next month.
the others are very routine, except that I will let barbara explain a built more about the admin services agreement.

>> barbara?

>> the modification for the administrative services agreement is much more lengthy this year because usually what we have is just an option to extend and the rates for that year, but this year, hr spent the time to negotiate rates not only for this year, but the next two years, so that increased the size of it, and also the -- our program changed a bit and-h we - I need to look at the title because I never can remember exactly what they call it.
but we have -- oh, personal health support and disease management services, so that meant we had to add a description of what those two services would be to our contract because that's additional services that will assist in getting more support and more direction for the care of chronic diseases, so if you have complicated diabetes, you will have a nurse assigned to you to make sure that you're getting the best possible treatment for you and the manifestations of the condition in your life, because there's many, many different kind of manifestations in relation to diabetes, the thing that really took the most pages is the fact that we've moved from the pharmacy plan we had before to a prescription drug list and a different provider and a greater potential for saving money because there's rebates involved in the agreement, and it's very complicated.
but that all got sorted out, and I think everybody's mostly happy with what we ended up with.
and that was why it was put last on the agenda, because we were still making everybody happy this morning.

>> and I guess there's one month extension in the stop loss to give us an opportunity to execute contract.

>> the contract, yes, sir.

>> do you need a vote of approval for everything but the stop loss at this point.

>> no, we need the stop loss extension one month.
approval on everything.

>> okay.

>> but you won't be voting on the new contractor.

>> approval of a, bh/7kn2ky unr item 20.
second by -- seconded by Commissioner Gomez.
discussion on the motion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> thank you.

>> thank you.
any further business today, mrs.
porter.

>> no.

>> do you mind if we breakerly?
break early?
mr. Davis moves adjournment.
second by Commissioner Gomez, all in favor, that carries by unanimous vote.
