>> thank you for your patience, by the way.

>> I'm just simply asking Commissioners court to read the proclamation for national night out of Travis County participating once more in national night out and that the Commissioners approve the proclamation, read it and have a photograph with the national night out banner.

>> just tell us what the national night out, can you do that?
we need to forego reading the proclamation unfortunately.
we're running out of time.

>> a crime prevention initiative nationwide, state of Texas participates annually and has been recognized as number 1.
these efforts are utilized locally and throughout the state to bring together local law enforcement, the community leaders and communities and neighborhoods alike to recognize what's going on in their neighborhoods and to help come up with a resolution to reduce crime and their local areas, neighborhoods and in the Travis County area.

>> and we're asking all county residents to join in this initiative.

>> yes, sir, we are.
we're asking them to sign up and participate with national night out.
for more information, they can go to our website, tc sheriff.org and sign up.
