Now human resources?
item number 20, consider and take appropriate action on order deleting current chapter 10 sections 10.035 through 10.037, vacation and sick leave and adding chapter 10, sections 10.035 through 10.037, vacation and sick leave.
ms. Blank enship?

>> good morning, judge, Commissioners.
I have dana hess with me from the hr department.
item number 20 and replace the sections with what we've given you today, I did give you another copy today because it was brought to my attention from lisa rush in the law libraries that bullet points are not the correct way to have the code done.
so she requested that we change those to numbers.
so that's the only change that we've made on this.
we were actually asked to make this change to policy, which in effect just reorders the policy and allows employees to take vacation and sick time in .001 of an hour.
the current practice is to allow people to take sick and vacation in one hundredths of an hour since we have a system that allows that and many of the shifts are in less than hour increments.
so when someone calls in sick for a day they're allowed to take the whole day as sick time even though they're in the in increments of an hour.
so this brings the policy up to current practice.

>> do we think that is the most significant change?

>> it is the most significant change, yes, sir.

>> that's why I move approval.

>> second.

>> discussion on the motion?

>> how soon will this change be able to be uploaded to our web-base code?

>> it current -- currently we can do in one hundredths of an hour and the current practice is in place for that.

>> I mean actually the -- the effort to have the policy available on our website.

>> that's a good question.
dana?

>> in order to have it on the website?
it shouldn't take more than a day or so to get it updated.

>> since we have an ongoing effort to make the code and policies of the county available through the available through the website or through the intra local because my little dog-eared copy of the yellow book and the blue book is kind of old school.

>> [ laughter ]

>> it is.
and again, we'll probably -- in getting ready for be fit we'll have to update policies to take full advantage of the new system.
so to get these online is probably the most expedient way to access.

>> and to have employees be able to check the most recent version of our policies that are electronic, because like I said my dog-eared copy of the blue book and yellow book is probably not up to date.

>> dana, get Commissioner Eckhardt a new copy.

>> I will.

>> any more discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> thank you.
