Number 1 consider and take appropriate action on an order concerning outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of Travis County.
we did get a good rain.
>> I'm going to bring you a umbrella because I believe we're going to get those rains.
last week's rainfall lowered Travis County drought index to 540 from a high of 659 just before that rain.
we're back up to and continuing to rise.
Travis County to remain in the 500 to 600 range in the next 14 days.
47% of Texas is in the exceptional drought category which is the worst drought category.
Travis County has been included in the governor's proclamation regarding wildfires.
the efd's are reporting grass fires and my recommendation is leave the ban in place.
the current ban will not expire until June 1st.
>> by taking no action we leave in place the current burn ban.
we'll have this back on next week in case there is better news.
>> I'll be out of town next week, but a member of my staff will be here.
