>> no.
3 is to approve proclamation recognizing the 25th annual "cinco de mayo" celebration in Travis County and the 16th annual "combined city/county cinco de mayo celebration."

>> thank you, judge.
I think some of our committee members are attending other things.
and so I will read the proclamation for them: this once again marks another anniversary of the battle of puebla in which men and women led by zaragosa successfully defended themselves against french troops.
whereas 25 years ago Travis County began hosting a cinco de mayo in order to keep alive the spirit of community, that is signified by the battle of puebla and to recognize the men and women who fought as well as those who still work to ensure our freedom.
and whereas this year's event marks the 16th annual combined city of Austin and Travis County celebration and is sponsored by many elected and appointed officials and department heads along with the downtown Austin alliance.
whereas Travis County will celebrate cinco de mayo at wooldridge park from 11:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m.
Friday, may 6th, featuring a mariachi and folkloreco dancer, plenty of food, booths and refreshments.
therefore be it proclaimed that the Travis County Commissioners court does hereby recognize the anniversary of cinco de mayo and encourages all citizen to participate in Friday's activities and I move approval.
