Number 2 consider and take appropriate action on an order concerning outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of Travis County.

>> good morning, judge, misdemeanors.
Commissioners.
the current kbdi is 462 and it is still increasing, although it has slowed in the rate it is increasing.
very little rain forecast for the next seven days.
but it is forecast to have a low humidity, some in the 20% range and some windy conditions.
the fire chiefs are reporting they are still having fires and there are considerable dry fuels.
my recommendation today is for the court to have a new burn ban and that new ban if it goes into effect today would not expire until April 6th.
there is some green-up occurring.
we're not seeing the small fires along the roadway currently, but the fire chiefs are reporting they are still having fires out in the field where there is a considerable amount of small dry standing cured fuels.
my recommendation to the court is to have another burn ban put in place.

>> what's the situation with the governor's statewide ban?
proclamation, I guess is what it was more than anything else.

>> it has not expired as of now.
the Texas forest service, they are having weekly conference calls or actually three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday I believe at 9:00 a.m., and they are still reporting very dry and windy conditions.
that is primarily west of interstate 35 where the worst danger is occurring.
because it seems that the fronts that come through as they drag through the area to the east of interstate 35 are getting some rains.
and their drought index is dropping, their conditions are much improving.
but for the western half of the state, we are still at the point where we have a lot of fire danger.

>> Travis County still listed as one of the counties?

>> yes, sir.

>> in the governor's approximation?

>> yes, sir.

>> move that we put in place another 30-day burn ban.

>> second.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
we'll keep this item on the agenda just in case there is something new.

>> yes, sir.

>> thank you very much.
