Item 14
Now let's call back to order the voting session of the Travis County Commissioners court.
item number 14, consider and take appropriate action on the presentation of the bond committee charter and introduction of the citizens bond advisory committee.
>> in January, we brought adouble committee charter for our November 8 anticipated bond referendum.
you approved that with us along with a schedule we indicated could slip one way or another but that was was approved.
last week you approved selection of appointees for the citizens bond advisory committee.
what we would like to do at this point is similar to what was happening in the 2005 bond every even dumb.
we would like to give the court the opportunity to deliver to the committee its charge.
as I said, they have their charter, they have a schedule, they have to work up their own bylaws, they have to make decisions about how often they want to meet and how frequently, that sort of thing, but this is more of an introduction, an opportunity for you all to give any Marching orders to the committee.
they have not yet gotten together and formed themselves as a truly operating committee, they still have to elect a chairman, but we thought we would give the opportunity to speak with them face to face.
many of them are here.
I think there's two that did not make it for reasons of a conflict of schedule, but most of them did manage to make it down this afternoon.
>> okay.
>> judge, I'd like to maybe thank, number one, before we get started, I would like to thank them for the position that they have because this is going to be a tough year and something I think need to be expressed as far as their service and what they are rendering.
