Item number artemus approve proclamation congratulating the Lake Travis high school cavaliers on winning a state championship in volleyball and for winning their fourth straight state championship in football.

>> judge, we have some dignitaries from Lake Travis high school here today and I would like them to take the opportunity to introduce themselves before I read this proclamation.

>> my name is hank carter, head football coach.

>> julie green, head volleyball.

>> kimberly, Lake Travis high school.

>> gary bradley, director for extracurricular programs.

>> director of communications for the school district.

>> good morning.

>> welcome to you.

>> thank you for coming all the way into town.

>> thank you for having us.

>> but it's with great honor that we recognize you today.
and I will read this proclamation.
whereas small Texas towns surrounding areas and surrounding areas are tight-knit communities with a strong cooperate I have spirit and passionate support for their local high school teams. And whereas Lakeway, Bee Caves, spice wood and their adjoining vicinities located within the Lake Travis isd are a great example of convergence of these qualities.
and whereas Lake Travis has been rated exemplary by the Texas education agency in 2010 and whereas the lady cavs volleyball team were unbeaten in district play and whereas their season ending with a -- 49-3 record in winning their first state championship.
and whereas the cavalier football team has won its fourth, fourth straight Texas 4-a championship in cowboys stadium.
whereas the state football championship marks only the third time in Texas history that an 11-man team has achieved this honor and the first time at 4-a level or higher.
and whereas these students' dedication, commitment and hard work in achieving these lofty goals are stellar examples for all young people.
now therefore be it proclaimed that the Travis County Commissioners court does hereby recognize January 18, 2011, as Lake Travis high school day in Travis County to honor their achievements both on and off the field.
and I move approval.

>> second.

>> welcome.

they were unfortunately not able to go as far as you did and allow these incentives and things you have done.
it's really great to get to the end of the road.
a lot of things keep you from getting there.
