View captioned video.

Number 3 a public hearing to receive comments pursuant to Texas parks and wildlife code chapter 26 regarding use of a portion of the parking lot and the entry park road at Travis County southeast metro park by the capital area rural transportation system for a park and ride facility.
move the public hearing be open.

>> second.

>> all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.

>> good morning, joe geiselman with transportation and natural resources department.

>> morning.

>> the capital area rural transportation system approached Travis County and asked to use a portion of a parking lot at our Travis County southeast metro park for a park and ride facility.
that park is located on state highway 71 at ross road so it's a good terminal point for the rural constituents to come to a point and be picked up and brought into the central city on a bus.
this is a temporary use.
the contract allows capital metro to use just a portion of our parking lot for a year, I think until August of 2012.
the contract does allow for one-year renewals for up to five years.
but a contract can be terminated with a 90-day notice.
we are required to conduct a public hearing before we allow any alternate use of park property and that is the purpose of today's public hearing.

>> would anyone like to give comments?
public hearing item number 3.
if so, please come forward.
give us your name and we would be happy to get your comments.

>> thank you.
I’m ronnie reeferseed and I’m just wondering, it's just a question.
it sounds like an area that I might be able to -- where is the southeast metro park?

>> if you head out toward the airport, keep on going as if you are headed to bastrop, just as you cross over onion creek on the left-hand side is southeast metro park.
it's about perhaps a mile and a half east of the airport.

>> off of 71?

>> right on 71.

>> fantastic.
thank you so much.

>> you're welcome.

>> any other comments?
move the public hearing be closed.

>> second.

>> all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
mr. Joe, you were not here on number 3, are you?

>>

>> [inaudible] the order and the interlocal for the action item.

>> so this is the single copy that goes to the judge?

>> there's an order and I’ll have copies for the judge to sign, but I wanted to pass out copies for you all because I didn't get them to you yesterday afternoon.
sorry about that.

>> this one copy --

>> I’ve got additional copies.

>> this is action item number 19.
we'll be ready to take action when we get to it.
