November is national adoption month, and in this community we have many children in foster care who are in need of forever families.
this Thursday, November 4th, we will celebrate Austin adoption day, and 37 children will be adopted out of foster care.
the adoptions will begin at 9:30 that morning.
there will be a press conference at 10:30, and we invited each of you to attend if you are able and participate in the celebration that honors all families who adopt.
>> and I think I told the press yesterday that about 25 kids would be adopted.
the news is even better.
>> yes, sir.

>> it's a beautiful event and it's kid friendly if you want to go and bring your other children as well, right?
>> absolutely.
>> very festive, circus-type atmosphere.
>> it will be at gardner-betts.
all the courtrooms will be decorated with stuffed animals and balloons and there will be games and food and all sorts of activities.
>> and 37 new families will be put together.
>> actually 21 families adopting 37 children, yes, sir.
>> 31 kids will leave with a permanent home.
>> absolutely.
>> but there is still a long list of kids left to be adopted, so those who have been thinking about adopting a child has about 120 more opportunities or 113.

>> and the number is very large for Texas, 5800 in Texas.
