Item 54

View captioned video.

>> 54, consider and take appropriate action on an interlocal agreement with the capital area rural transportation system for the use of travis county's southeast metro for a park and ride facility.

>> let melee this one out, but i'm told by the county attorney's office out of due diligence we should hold a chapter 26 public hearing. That's the part of the texas parks and wildlife code that requires any time you make a use of a park for nonpark purposes, you conduct a public hearing first. And make sure -- so that was just recommended this morning. But what this is is a request from the cart --

>> backup is pretty straightforward?

>> okay.

>> isn't it?

>> i would recommend we postpone this and i will put an item on to do a public hearing.

>> thank you very much. They would pay us to improve the road because of the heavy bus traffic.

>> that's right.

>> and --

>> pretty straightforward.

>> and in exchange we would let them use it.

>> yes.

>> okay. Further action on 54 as appropriate? Including a public hearing.

>> i will bring back an item next week to actually post a date for that hearing. Unless you want to do one today.

>> i don't know that we have to bring back an item to post a public hearing. Can't we just post a public hearing?

>> it's got to be 30 days' notice, so it's going to be like november --

>> that's what i'm saying. What if we just put on the agenda the public hearing on whatever date we select.

>> there we go.

>> chat with mr. Hilly about that.
