Item 17

View captioned video.

17 is consider and take appropriate action on order setting salaries for elected officials for fiscal year 2011.

>> good afternoon, judge, commissioners, rod flee rhoades, planning and budget. Item 17 is the order setting the official salaries. The notifications have gone out and we did not receive any comments based on the proposed salary increases, the 2.5% for those nonjudicial salaries.

>> there was a deadline for elected officials who were unhappy with that decision to file a grievance. And we did not receive any grievances, did we?

>> no, sir.

>> what was the deadline again?

>> i knew you were going to ask. I did not bring that piece of paper down, judge.

>> miss wilson is always real good at remembering those deadlines.

>> the order setting the elect officials' salaries was approved on july 13th, and i believe they had five days after that for you to get the notice to them and then ten days after they got the notice. So the exact date would depend upon when the notice was received by them from your office. So it would be about 15 days maximum after the 13th, which would be the 28th of july.

>> so i was just trying to establish for the record that would have been several weeks ago.

>> yeah, some time ago.

>> and the order before you today, just to follow up on what barbara was mentioning, there are two orders. One is already signed you'll see and that one is the one that miss wilson was just discussing, that was approved on july 13th. The other one will be approved today and it's to reflect actions that the commissioners court took during markup.

>> any questions? Comments? Move approval of the proposed order.

>> second.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. And that was a motion by biscoe, seconded by gomez.
