Item 5
>> item number 5, approve proclamation recognizing austin-travis county integral care for effective and cost efficient means to manage and deliver services for texans with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
>> good afternoon.
>> morning. It's been a long day so far, but not afternoon yet.
>> that's true, that's true. Good morning. My name is illana gillman. I'm the director of integral care and we thank the commissioners court today for considering passing this resolution on behalf of the people that we serve in our community with behavioral health and developmental disabilities. This in part is -- this commissioner court will actually be considering this resolution as will other county commissioner courts in the state of texas. The texas council helped us create this resolution in preparation for the upcoming yekd legislative session, which we all know will be a very challenging one for health and human services. We ask for your support in the services we provide for the community.
>> comments? Last opportunity?
>> it's wonderful that you're doing this resolution in advance of the legislation session. As we know, there is a 21 billion-dollar suckling sound at the state level and we are concerned about the vulnerability -- the funding vulnerability of the most vulnerable among us.
>> thank you.
>> so i'll start blaming y'all for the resolution being so long.
>> [ laughter ] we'll blame others around the state. Do i need to read the resolution?
>> no.
>> okay. Because my spouse is employed at austin travis county mhmr integral care today, and because our legal staff stays on its toes, i must abstain.
>> move approval.
>> second.
>> all in favor? Show the rest of the court voting in favor. The judge biscoe abstaining. And we have for you the resolution.
>> thank you very much. We appreciate your support.
>> thank y'all.
>> keep up your dedication and hard work at integral care.
>> appreciate all that you are doing.
