>> shall i read the resolution first?

>> please. Which one is ms. Adames? Okay.

>> the resolution -- i'm pleased and grateful to be able to read this resolution. Whereas for over 29 years gloria adames has served the residents of travis county throughout her career in the area of social services. Whereas since her hiring as a clerk for the post road community center and brackenridge hospital in february of 1981, through her work as a case worker for travis county health and human services and veterans services at the west rural community center over the past 18 years, she has clearly demonstrated her commitment and dedication to the community and its residents. Gloria has played an important role in providing a variety of social services to those in need and for the benefit of the community. Gloria's accomplishments are shared with her mother, sisters, brothers and friends. Without whose loving devotion she may not have percent spheerd. Gloria enjoyed the opportunity to work with and be mentored by her sister ora during her tenure at travis county health and human services. Gloria's hard work, enthusiasm and dedication are well-known and appreciated by those whose lives she has touched and it is appropriate that we take this opportunity to honor gloria on this occasion of her retirement and know that her contributions will remain a part of travis county for the years to come. Now therefore be it resolved that we the travis county commissioners court do here by extend special thanks to gloria adaims dames for her dedicated work to travis county and extend best wishes to her in all future endeavors. And i move approval.

>> any comments from anybody else? Ms. Fleming?

>> good morning, judge and commissioners. Sherri fleming, executive manager for health and human services and veterans services. We have the blessing of health and human services to have employees who are living archives of our information. And so gloria is certainly one of those employees. She's been with the department now for so long. She's been through so many transitions from doing all of the work we're doing on hand, on computers or probably wishing that we had doing it by hand with some of the computer things she's had tone diewr. So it's been a marvelous experience for all of us there to have worked with gloria. She has such a pleasant demeanor. She works really hard for her clients and so we just really appreciate this opportunity to appreciate her, let her know how much we're going to miss her and wish her well in this next phase of her journey.

>> [ applause ]

>> good morning, judge and commissioners. Angela for division for support services. I would like to echo sherri's words and express my sincere appreciation and best wishes to gloria. Gloria and i actually started at the same time with the department and we were super young.

>> [ laughter ] and just really want to acknowledge all of her hard work and dedication, all of our folks work very hard. Gloria is one of those folks that absolutely steps up all the time and has done above and beyond for her entire career with the county. And i also want to wish her a very special birthday on thursday.

>> happy birthday.

>> thank you.

>> thank you, gloria.

>> any words, mrs. Adames. You can say whatever you wish on your way out.

>> [ laughter ]

>> no. I just want to thank god for blessing me with this wonderful job. And thank you, commissioners court, and my supervisors, managers and directors. It was a pleasure working for travis county health and human services. Thank you.

>> thank you so much.

>> we'll miss you.
