we received rain, some places too much, but we did get a lot of rain.
last week just before the rain we had reached a high of 600 on the drought index.
shortly after the rain, the drought index dropped all the way to 74.
what that means to us citizens is is small fuels now contain enough moisture a fire is not likely to spread should it get outside confines.
at this point it's our recommendation to lift the burning ban in Travis County.

>> how do we notify the folks that the burn ban is actually been lifted if the court deems that's appropriate for today, which it appears that it is.
how do the citizens on know there is a burn ban?

>> [one moment, please, for change in captioners] can we discuss that next week with the appropriate worded item?

>> sure, judge.
and if you would like to receive the advice of counsel under your authority under the law with regard to burn bans and how you lift them, I would be glad to assist you in that.

>> are we posted to get that advice today?

>> I think you could do it under this posting.

>> if so we'll take it into executive session under consultation with attorney for legal advice with an eye to the future.
okay?

>> all right.

>> thank you very much, mr. Fire marshal.
