Executive Session

So let's get ready for executive session. We'll begin with item 28, receive briefing and take appropriate action on statutory requirements under local government code 157.022 regarding hours of work of peace officers in counties of more than one million. And we'll have this discussion in executive session with lawyers under the consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act. We have been asked to pull item 29. 30, consider and take appropriate action on offer to sell to the county approximately 108.68 acres of land in northwest travis county in connection with the balcones canyonlands conservation plan. Real property exception to the open meetings act. Let's announce consultation with attorney just in case. 31, consider and take appropriate action on a proposed fifth amendment to the existing purchase contract for the sale of county-owned property located on johnny morris road in precinct 1 to balcones resources, inc. Consultation with attorney and real property exceptions to the open meeting act. 32, consider and take appropriate action regarding the potential purchase of real estate in central austin. Consultation with attorney and real property exceptions to the open meetings act. 33, consider and take appropriate action on requests and claims regarding the central texas hunting, fishing and outdoor expo at the travis county expo center, including the following: a, smc events; b, dead man's pass ranch, l.l.c.; c, sales r us, inc; and d, a'lure fishing boxes. Consultation with attorney exception. 34, receive briefing and take appropriate action regarding the austin roller rink at 11600 manchaca road, austin, texas, 78748, and compliance with travis county fire code and other travis county regulations. Consultation with attorney exception. We'll discuss these matters in executive session but will return to open court before taking any action.

Consisting of number 28, the matter involving the statutory requirements for hours of work by peace officers. In counties of more than one million. We did get our briefing. In my view no action is required today. This was in anticipation of the -- of the population certification by the census. Which will come in the spring and we will take appropriate action about this time next year. We also discussed item no. 30, the matter involving potential purchase of -- of 108 plus acres of land in northwest travis county for the bccp. In my view, we should make a counteroffer. To the offer that we have received and ask staff to try to report back to us next week on any progress made between now and then.

We discussed number 32, involving potential real estate in central austin, no action based on the briefing that we received. 33, the matter involving qulaims claims, saturday of an event at the exposition center. We did ask staff to bring back additional information for us, we'll have that item and the different parts back on the agenda next tuesday. For appropriate consideration. And next tuesday is august 3rd. 34, the matter involving austin roller rink --
