1. Introduce diane blankenship, the new director of the human resources management department. That was just to check and see if you were letter, ms. Blank ship.
>> i'm roger jeffreys executive manager of justice and public safety, also the liaison for hrmd for the organizational planning team. This is a big day for us, we're coming to the commissioners court really for two reasons. One, our interim director, ms. Tracy callaway who has been with us for the past six months, done such a tremendous job, graciously came to the commissioners court last week and citizens communication to thank all of the folks she's partnered with and worked with over the last six months. We just wanted to take an opportunity to thank her for her service winding down now. She's going to stay around for a couple more weeks to assist in the transition to our new hrmd director, so i just wanted on behalf of the organizational planning team certainly i'm sure a lot of folks to thank her for her terrific service over the last several months, thank you, tracy.
>> do you want to say anything?
>> i came last week, also a good jump start because you always forget somebody and thin they have a week to remind you who you forgot. I wanted to thank the judge for all of your help
>> [laughter] and your support first.
>> nobody had even noticed that
>> [laughter]
>> mayor leffingwell: okay. And i would also like to thank one of the members of the organizational planning team, which is rodney rhoades. I knew that i was going to forget somebody and i wanted to make sure that i shared a special thank you for him as well for all of his support. So thank everybody again. I won't repeat the list from last week. But thank you all for your support. It was a great time to be here and i wish you all lots and lots of success and i know that you will be very successful going forwards, thank you.

>> [ applause ] it's glad to know that you are human because your tenure here has been so extraordinary we thought that you were perfect.
>> as sad as we are to see tracy go, we are thrilled to death and excited to have a new hrmd director. Ms. Diane blankenship travis county new resources management department director. We have been here before to describe the process that we went through, i think over 350 people applied. We went through a very comprehensive process. I believe we have come up with a real super star for the county. I want to give the listeners today a brief background of diane's resume. She's got an associate's degree from lee college. She's got both a bb a&m ba from the university of houston. She is coming to us from the archdiocese of galveston in houston. She served in a similar capacity at the methodist hospital of houston and u.s. Data link inc. Also in houston, public sector experience as will having served as a director of compensation and benefits for the houston community college system and a staff development and training manager at the central campus of the university of houston. Again, we are just so excited to have you and welcome you to travis county.
>> thank you so much. I'm really thrilled to be here. Looking forward to getting started on what tracy has already managed to accomplish and i'm really looking forward to working with all of the fine folks at travis county.
