Executive Session
Ms. Porter, have we come to executive session.

>> we have been asked to postpone our consideration of item 27 until next week by mr. Rhoades. 28. Discuss and take appropriate action on economic development project in precinct one. 4 economic development exceptions. 29. Consider and take appropriate action concerning the settlement offer regarding payment for star flight services rendered to kiana young and mackey young. Consultation with attorney exception. 30. Consider and take appropriate action concerning the settlement offer regarding payment for star flight services rendered to kevin wu. Consultation with attorney exception. 31. Consider and take appropriate action on claim from ben hur shriners for partial reimbursement of amount charged for 2008 event at the expo center. Consultation with attorney exception. And our final executive session item, number 32. Consider and take appropriate action on notification from bank of america of intent to exercise option of another five year lease period at county owned property at 2501 south congress, austin, texas. Consultation with attorney and real property exception to the open meetings act. We will discuss these items, ms. Porter, but return to open court before taking any action.
>> we are back from executive session where we discussed the following items: number 28, the matter involving the economic development project in precinct 1.
>> judge, i move that we direct staff to proceed utilizing -- proceed negotiations for consultants using $2,500 from the allocated reserve to get consulting information on the economic development project within precinct 1 and also use the necessary information and make it readily available for the consultants in their endeavor to bring about the necessary information to commissioner's court to make decisions.

>> discussion? All in favor? That carries unanimously. 29 is the matter involving the starflight services rendered to kiana young and mackey young. I move that we indicate our willingness to waive the $7,869.01 charge to mackey young and that we waive the cost of services for kiana young.

>> discussion in all in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. 30, the matter involving starflight services rendered to kevin woo. We got a settlement offer from the insurance company. Any motion? Move that we reject the offer.

>> discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. The more i thought about that, rejecting it is probably better than taking no action. We discussed 31 and it seems that staff needs to do additional research, touch base with the other parties, submitting the demand, and let's have this item back on the court's agenda two weeks from today, which will be jut 13th, 2010. Anything else on that item?

>> 32, the matter involving the request to exercise an option on county-owned property at 2501 south congress, austin, texas. I move that we authorize the director of facilities, roger el khoury, to sign the notice of lease extension that we received from bank of america. And it's really an acknowledgment more than anything else. It would be for a five-year extension through july 31st, 2016. Seconded by commissioner davis. Discussion? All in favor? That passes by unanimous vote. Ms. Porter, according to my records we are done today.
