19 is to consider and take appropriate action on a request for return of a $280 deposit for an event planned at the exposition center skyline club in october of 2010.

>> i just had one quick question about that. I held it up off the consent calendar because i don't understand why these kinds of things need to come all the way to court. It would seem like most places have policies and procedures for cancellation that would be routine as far as return within certain time frames of cancellation. I move approval but i would like to say, i would like to know if there's a reason why that i'm unaware of that this has to come to court. Do we not have a policy?

>> mr. Telecord ia.

>> good afternoon, roger alcordi. First of all, it was the norm that anyone coming for return has to go to court first of all because the treasurer cannot act on any refound without the commissioners court approval. So it's already been depositived. It's not with us at this time--deposited. It's not with us. When we get the deposits the next day or day after we deposit with the treasurer. Anything that comes from the treasurer, i think we have to have commissioners court approval. That is one way. The other way--

>> i think is et just a gift that has to come back to the commissioners court? I believe that if there's a refund policy, i don't know.

>> expo center always we have done any refund right there, it there's come to the commissioners court for approval. That has been done in the past.

>> i think that it might be fruitful to look at that from a legal perspective and see if we can craft policy so that it doesn't rise to this level. Just lock and see if there's an option for us to get a more streamlined approach so that these sorts of management issues don't have to come all the way to commissioners court.

>> that is why i brought it up. And also because people that are cans selling within--canceling within a decent time frame shouldn't have to put all their reasons in the public record. I don't think that is necessary. For the sake of the people canceling. October is a long time away. If you can look into that, that would be great.

>> move.

>> all in favor. That passes by unanimous vote.
