Now let's call back to order the voting session of the travis county commissioners court. And one of our most important items of the decade, day
>> [laughter] -- is number 7, present certificates of recognition to travis county employees who completed 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service during 2009. Good afternoon.
>> good afternoon. I'm tracy callaway with hrmd, with christie nelson, also with hrmd. We are so excited about today. In 2009 we had over 647 travis county employees reach milestones of five years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years and 35 years. Of those, 475 that were five, 10, 15 year milestone reachers were recognized at the department level. Today, in court, we would like to recognize those 172 who have reached 20 years, 25, 30 and 35 years. We would like to recognize them with the certificate and as well as with a photo opportunity. I would like to turn this now over to christine nelson, who will take it from here.
>> good afternoon, commissioners, judge.
>> good afternoon.
>> before we start, we would like to let the honorees know how appreciative we are of them, how privileged it is for the human resources department to be able to honor them today and every year this time of year. We will be starting with the highest honor of 35 years, that individual is not here today. But then we'll go from down to 30, 25, and then 20s. I understand that the court is going to remain on the dais.
>> we are?
>> we always enjoy coming down front and shaking hands.
>> we want to do it a little differently this year.
>> who is in control of this?
>> [laughter] the answer is, i am, judge.
>> [laughter]
>> that's true. You have a good point there.
>> [laughter] so if it pleases the court, if it's okay with the court,
>> [laughter] --
>> it pleases the court.
>> we would like for you to get positioned and we can start announcing our honorees. We have two photographers. We will also have someone helping get everyone together, because we have a lot more people today than we did last year. We will start with 35 year, that is linda maxwell. Okay. Then we will move to our 30 years. We have renee deckert, norman mcree,
>> [ applause ], norm!
>> we will ask them to come the front, after which we will take a photo opportunity. We also have -- it's okay to go around, nick. Jeanne meurer, steven muris. Carol reed. And nancy townly. So that completes the 30 years. So if -- if mr. Meres if you want to go ahead and go up to the dais, we will get a picture with everyone.
>> so the court is in this, too?
>> yes, please
>> [laughter] somebody say ready so we will know when to take it.
>> smile.
>> thank you. That's 30 years. Okay, we will move on to 25 years, we have bruce allen. Kate bennett. Sandra blanton, gracy

>> [ applause ] if you all could actually head up that way, we'll take a picture now. We'll have them go on stage behind you all with you.
>> will these county employees have at least one dope of this picture? -- one copy of this picture.
>> every employee will get a digital copy.
>> we will post the best pictures, the best photos on the website so that employees can down load them. We're working on trying to make sure that we have the names in each of the photos as well.
>> the one with the county judge in the middle is the best one.
>> [laughter] okay. Our second group of 25 years, okay second group of 25 years service,

>> [ applause ] now we're moving on to our biggest group, which is our 20 years service. Which -- which is about 133 employees total. That we will announce.
>> all of these people started when they were 20, right?
>> [laughter]

>> or younger, yeah.
>> [laughter]
