Travis County Commissioners Court

Citizen's Communication
Citizen's communication is next.
this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda and two have signed in.
kenneth schnieder is number one followed by morris priest.
>> hi, kenneth schnieder, third world city from down the street, ten miles down the road.
i went to the city of Austin the other day, last Tuesday and I -- I will be at the city council today at 12:00 o'clock and the judge -- I mean, the
>> [indiscernible] I talked that the aide and everything and I know all about north ridge and everything, I don't know how long he had been up there but I will show pictures up there of city council but we are within the city limits of Austin, hha, so it is going to -- the county and city will have to work it together, like they did the water lines, the same thing.
the problem has to be fixed.
they put this mount out there.
look at it now, it is drying up pretty good out there, they have water all in the driveway coming out the mound.
that is really good safety, that is all the mounds do, ten of them out there and across the front, they have them in the front doors, everything, the businesses, well it has to be a real cest pool, like around my backyard, there is water coming down, it is like a cest pool, when it rains, mosquitoes, everything, no place to go.
they have to go out there and pump the ground out just to drop a septic tank into the ground and fill it full of water because septic tanks will float up and then they throw a bunch of dirt on and the water will go on top of the dirt like that.
is that safety?
how would you like that in front of your yard, your house and have water run off the side, I don't find it safe and finding birds out there dead and everything, it just ain't right and just like I told this guy over here and everything, he can't believe it.
he is going to do a story on us.
he can't believe we are in the middle and we have this growth around us and the apartment right next door on the racetrack of north ridge, the big complex there, water, sewer and everything out there and here we are sitting in a horseshoe and about -- about -- they put another 3 or 400 houses out and get the water and sewer -- we've got the water, get the sewer.
and --
>> [indiscernible] since 1980 we have been trying to get help out there, judge Biscoe was nice enough to get the water out there for us, I wish there was a dma there, but this problem has to be fixed.
we can't wait another five years like we did on the water.
it has to be done and gets done quick, because everybody is getting sick out there.
i am sick out there.
my wife is in a wheelchair now.
i turned my life all the way through and I don't like coming up here and everything.
people say you've got to get the county or city the help you.
i can't get no grants, nothing in, the city has to do it and just to come up here and show you where the grants are.
there are plenty of grants out there, they have grants for salamanders, trees, spiders, grants for everything, and a million dollars on a bullet tray and not going to make any money for it.
>> [buzzer alarming] I just want so him out there
>> [indiscernible] and there is money out there.
you've got to find it and I talked to dell computers.
they called me the other day and said they would put money out, they said you have to go through -- some department, I don't know what it was, he is supposed to call me back and he said we will be glad to help you.
of course they have their office right next door to us now, so I don't know.
>> thank you mr.
schnieder.
>> and I will look into dell's offer as well as the city of Round Rock or the city of Austin annexing north ridge because that seems to be the most appropriate.
>>
>> [indiscernible] annex because they have side walks but they can get the sewer in just like the water and thrilled building everything, a 20-dollar water bill instead of 120-dollar bill like I used to get.
all we need is sewer and I think the sewer should cost less than the water, really and
>> [indiscernible] run it through your house and that is tend of it but I -- they have grants out there, I have talked to the grant people.
they say they are there with the city, the county but one of them has to put it in, just like with the water.
and y'all know about it now because of the water and that is all done
>> [indiscernible] judge you promised me were going to get the sewer in after you got the water
>> [indiscernible] but I don't enjoy being up here.
i have been up here since 1980 trying to get this thing done.
>> thank you mr.
schnieder.
>> mr.
priest.
>> thank you judge, Commissioners, morris priest speaking on my behalf.
the abortion issue -- I don't know, judge f you can hear me, but I will try to talk over the rudeness.
the abortion issue that the city council is passing an ordinance that is going to be item number 27 on the agenda, the timing of this announcement by bill spelman on a good Friday, easter Sunday is really, just appalling to me that he would make this terrorist attack against citizen who is are providing a praiseworthy service to the community free of charge in some cases to the poor, but, you know, silence is the frail, and the ordinance itself is really -- it states a culpable mental state is not required for violation of this chapter and not needed to be prove and I went down to the city and I asked who has been harmed by this and they said they could not find one single individual in this community who has been harmed by these clinics and now they are going to impose them to put signs on four of their clinics and of course we hear from laura morrison on the media that they embrace everyone in this community with diversity but it doesn't seem to be something that embraces a citizen community.
i think that the three people that have sponsored this need citizen sensitivity counseling.
the ordinance itself is vague and ambiguous, subject matter jurisdictions, so many limine lawsuits will be probably filed.
there will be a revote and possible recall.
we have mike martinez telling us the red light cameras aren't about generating revenue but it's about saving lives but no one seems to be in this community concerned about the unborn.
they're labeled, they are beelined, they are targeted.
these individuals that are conspiring against them whether it be null pro-choice Texas or planned parenthood are all sponsored by tax funded abortions, our health care district spend thousands upon thousands of dollars for abortions and aids, and these services that these organizations provide help fight these things and it is just really appalling that we have this type of input but I feel that there are people that will strong the gates of hell with a water pistol and fight these until freezes over or fight them on ice afterwards, but, you know, it is just appalling that we have this corruption and this the insensitivity to people who are doing great things in the community.
>> [buzzer alarming] and with jobs down and foreclosures up, I think we will probably have to find some way to have these individuals pack their bags and update their resumes.
thank you.
>> thank you, mr.
priest.
>> anybody else for citizen's communication, whether you signed in or not?
