Executive Session

a 2 consider and take appropriate action regarding the proposed property by habitat for humanity at part of the Travis County 2006 and 2007 community development block grant plan.
and this will be under the consultation with attorney as well as real property exceptions.
to the open meetings act.
two other items are posted for executive session today.
and they are item 26, receive legal briefing and take appropriate action regarding claims by alicia perez in Texas workforce commission, civil rights division.
twccrd, charge number 1 a 20200.
consultation with attorney exception.
and 27, receive briefing from county attorney regarding status of contract with santos alliances for legislative advocacy services.
and 27 is consultation with attorney exception to the open meetings act.
we'll discuss these matters in executive session, but will return to open court before taking any action.

i move that we basically authorize habitat to proceed to purchase the -- to arrange to purchase the targeted real estate.

26 is the matter involving the claims by alist I can't perez before the Texas workforce commission.
i move that we accept the offer of mediation, that we authorize Commissioner Eckhardt to represent Travis County there along with roger jeffreys, if he will accept the assignment.
and that we select or indicate our support there, serving as mediator for us in that matter.

we asked county staff to communicate with santos alliances for additional information.
and we are led to believe that it will take approximately two weeks to get that done.
so we'll have 27 back on the court's agenda for consideration and action on February 23rd, 2010.
and that's about all we need on that, isn't it?
