Citizens Communication

View captioned video.

Citizens communication is next.
and this item gives residents an opportunity to dress the court on any matter meater not on the agenda.
gus was number one, jeanette was the one that just testified on item number one.
and robert prthial, he was the gentleman that spoke.
okay.
and vicky good win and maurice preist, these three.
good morning.

>> your, judge, Commissioner guz pena, good morning.
i expressed my appreciation to you, judge, your leadership and Commissioners for doing the right thing on item number 1.
you know what it calls for, the railroad already made a decision.
Commissioner Huber, you are the particular on that Commissioner issue and the particular item on the agenda.
the law is very specific.
so I would ask you all to act accordingly.
number one, militarive veterans.
we see a lot of veterans continue to be not helped out.
the ones I really specifically mention are the once coming from iraq and afghanistan from serving through to four terms.
they have issues that cause them to lose their homes or jobs.
jobs ain't here, excuse me english.
it's going to be tougher, I don't care what the experts say.
we in the community are the ones that bear the brunt.
number two, actually, show veterans your support.
see a veteran coming back in uniform, whatever, thank them.
whatever you feel on the war, yesor no, nobody is for war.
i served during vietnam.
show your appreciation and thank god we have veterans that defend the country and defend freedom and democracy.
number two, drop-offs.
i'll going to say that again because our judge at the drop-off center was the only person to say we need more mentors and tutors for kids to keep them from dropping out.
he also made one very good comment, you need to start intervention and prevention at elementry school.
not middle school.
once you start there you lost them.
you need to start prevention in elementry level, prek preferably is what I have been saying.
i dropped out of johnston and went to the marine corps and came back because of a good principal, strong mom and strong older brother.
i know you have proclamation on poverty.
how many times do we have to tell you people are not making it.
food stamps aren't making it.
i talked to the governor's staff my con sit wents, senator watson's office, and it is not good.
it is irresponsible.
echo is going to have a homeless count.
good luck on that going into the homeless camp.
they are not going to allow you in there.
a lot they are not going to count.
census, please please allow people to be interviewed for census.
we need your count, need the numbers.
a lot of people are not going to be counted.
that is not acceptable.
i will end this, last and foremost, Commissioner Gomez, I'm a native of precinct 4.
we have poverty out there not being addressed.
i'll end this quickly judge Biscoe.
i will tell you this much, society is worth its measure but the treatment ofless fortunate.
judge, thank you very much.
i urge everybody to vote for the judge's relegs.
--reelection.
we love him and support him.
Commissioner Gomez, get it done.
thank you.

>> thank you.
ms.
good win.

>> good morning.

>> good morning.

>> I'm here today, vicky good win, residents shady hollow, here to make a request that you write a letter to tex dot urging them to continue with the environmental study for hs 45 southwest.
about three months ago the study was put together to expedite the role.
instead it's been put on hold.
i know you have written a letter to tex dot letting them know you don't approve of the improvements along the 1626.
that says to us in the area that you just don't approve any road improvements down where I live, which is quite disappointing.
i would like for tex dot to move forward on the environmental study so that when they do finish in a couple of years we'll have some background on whether the vote environment--whether the road is environmentally feasible rather than listening to people who aren't engineers.
hopefully by that team we will have worked out the financing issues.
that is all I have to say.
thank you.

>> I'd like to clarify one point there.
the resolution we sent on 1626 was relative to the portion of 1626 which is in Travis County, and we felt like improvements that took it directly to brody lane would do nothing but give a visual direction to those using 1626 to direct more traffic up brody lane.
that was the reason we yo that.

>> I understand that.
i don't want more traffic on brody lane.
however, again, we need the road improvements.
they need the proof knowledge.
just one more side know.
i am a realtor and showed a home in mountain city over the weekend.
my client works at mopaq and 36 0.
they are not aware of the traffic.
they love the home.
they will be driving up brody lane.
you ought to try doing that one day before rush hour before buying this home because as a realtor I don't want to get sued later on knowing how bad the traffic is, knowing that there's no way for him to get on to mopac easily other than traveling a good half hour up brody lane in the mortgage, about a three mile stretch.

>> > thank you.

>> thank you.

>> > mr.
priest.

>> judge, Commissioners, maurice priest, there is going to be a meeting I believe tomorrow at, between seven and eight people, change office.org, office of energy, bart springs, I believe 2701, 721 barton springs road.
you can check the website, change offices.org.
another good website you can check out, it's gooh, three os if I missed one, dot com, a great o out of our house, politically motivated organization, and it is true that all that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.
this organization is probably something that those interested in their community will check out.
seems to be voter's revolt and clear position of many people to maybe even implement a recall.
we have transportation issues, as we just heard.
we have seen scandals such as bernie mado if, f which many of us had to take at least a hundred other people to be involved in such a great fiasco.
we have cap and trade, obama care, people calling for implementation of the fair tax.
a lot of other issues that we're dealing with in our community.
but we have had great successes in the past.
looking at this item here, if we had phase one toll roads, 183 a, 130, sh 45 north, leap one extension, u.s.
183, those were supposed to be the toll roads in phase one and planned for phase two were sh 45 southwest, sh 45 southwest, u.s.
290, sh 71 west, u.s.
290 east, u.s.
183, sh 71 east.
as you can see that many of these projects were slated to open long before now, 2006, 2007.
here we are 2010.
looking at the campo board, all the errors made, we previously listend to an error made on another item on citizens comments.
many of the agenda items were error riddled.
we found that the obama administration told us not to spend money on toll roads yet when we look at what tex dot spent, the vast majority of the funds that were spent were spent on toll roads.
then even more funds were transferred to put ramps on existing toll roads such as sh 130.
it was supposed to be funded by gas taxes but this last campo meeting they funded it with those dollars.
stay tuned.
the revenue --revolution will is stipstill be televised.

>> thank you mr.
preist.
