>> then, a-1 is to consider and take appropriate action on request from Austin-Travis County integral care.
that's Austin-Travis County mhmr in the old days, for participation from Travis County in support of the mayor's mental health taskforce monitoring committees planning of local strategies to address behavioral health needs in the community.
that's a long way of saying what, ms.
fleming?

>> just briefly, the mayor's mental health taskforce came into being around 2004 under the leadership of mayor will wynn.
as a result of some tragic events in our community.
and it has been a collaboration over the last five years to look at strategies as a community to improve mental health services and outcomes for our residents.
there is a broad-based representation on this committee that has been looking at issues affecting schools and youth, criminal justice, housing and access and community awareness and faith-based entities.
this request is the result of evaluation of that group's accomplishments throughout the last five years, and a request to be able to expand its work for another two years so the mayor's mental health taskforce monitoring committee was a committee of broad-based representation to look at 39 criteria that were developed during the initial taskforce phase.
and so this request was for participation by Travis County.
up to this point the city of Austin has funded this work.
and so it has been a request to us, to the city of Austin.
i believe there's some foundation support also coming in to this effort to be able to continue to work on a couple of the criteria that have not been completely realized in the time that the group has worked together.
but with an end date for this committee's work of December 2011.

>> this is really a request for $25,000 this year.

>> it is.

>> 25,000 next year.

>> yes, it is.

>> this is the work that ended up in our funding m cot, the city of Austin came up with housing.
they did finally deliver on that.
i say that not to be critical, because what they did was renovate existing city property, but that is used for the single occupant mental health client is the goal there.
austin Travis County mhmr acquired some additional housing that is supposed to have a case management component.
so I think this work, it's called the mayor's mental health taskforce, but it really was the community's effort.

>> absolutely.
and there's been aggressive participation by Travis County and Travis County personnel throughout this process.

>> without this work I don't think any of those projects would have been completed.

>> certainly.
and created a great deal of awareness and attention so that a lot of movement has been experienced over these last five years.
the department in collaboration with planning and budget has identified $25,000 in unused funds from our public health interlocal with the city of Austin, and that is the proposed source of funding to meet this request for this fiscal year and the department anticipates submitting a budget request for next -- for fiscal year lefn.

>> move approval, judge.

>> second.

>> discussion?
all in favor?
show the rest of the court and the county judge abstaining because his spouse works for integral care.
although this is one of those things I'm not sure it's mhmr's project, but it's close enough probably for me to abstain on it.

>> right.

>> thank you, judge.

>> with that I move that we recess until 1:30.
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
