>> and our final exposition item today is number 13, consider and take appropriate action on request from the Austin immigrant rights coalition to waive rental fees for convention on immigration integration at the exposition center banquet hall on February 20th, 2010.

>> that word waive is meant for us, isn't it?

>> that's right.

>> we've heard modification, we've heard discount, we've heard reduced.

>> and that's what facility management is recommending is a discount of 50% of the rental fee, and this is in line of previous Commissioner court approval action for fee for nonprofit organization.
and they sent a letter to the Travis County Commissioners court waiving the whole fee, which is $1,800.
facility management, we said that we recommend 50% recommendation, which is $900.

>> a 50% reduction?

>> move approval of staff recommendation?

>> yes.

>> and actually, we need that to cover some of our costs.

>> in addition to that, they would pay for the custodial and cleaning.
that's only a rental -- facility rental.

>> okay.

>> discussion?

>> I would ask that perhaps we bring an item back in the future, in light of the backup that you sent to us with regard to our moark discount -- our historic discounts and in light of the judge's statement that waive is not something that we're warm and fuzzy to, but perhaps that we revisit our code provision so that we can make our code more reflective of what our history of discounts has been.
and it might reduce some of y'all's work load in having to bring 50% discounts that we do on a rather routine basis for nonprofits of certain types.

>> we have been fairly consistent with that reduction, right?

>> correct.
