Citizens communication is first, this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda for up to three minutes.
morris priest has signed in.
good morning.

>> good morning, judge, Commissioners, morris priest, speaking on my own behalf.
when our government decides that it wants to show an interest in our quality of life, I think the -- that most of the citizens in this community, we have come down here and expressed our objection to abortion, we fill this hallway and this Commissioners court and we have people in the community that decided to just live their lives and

>> [indiscernible] drinking a quart of beer.
most of the people in this community, when we deal with quality of life issues, we pretty much decide the quality of life that we're going to have on an individual basis.
basically, we see the government's role in dealing with quality of life issues is only to protect that quality of life.
it's not to suggest or give us a quality of life.
and txi's egregious permit request, that's how this permit request for txi should be looked at, the request is to egregious, much like what we see with the health care debate at the federal level.
13 attorney generals have filed a complaint already even before the bill's entered on this health care plan because they feel that it's so benefits one party over another that the -- that, you know, it's pretty much like the txi situation.
the -- txi people need a hardship to apply for conveyor belt through the city and tceq so they come to the county with this insufficient road agreement to use as a back stop or to use as -- as an end around to get through their hardship.
people feltlike they were being defrauded of their property rights.
this actually is a human rights issue.
it's not a legal issue.
but when the county engages in these insufficient road agreements and on the face of the permit allow them to take that back to the city or tceq or any other agency and apply for a hardship, this is what I'm talking about that our government should protect our quality of -- rights.
we have contracts versus our constitution and then when the governments get involved they sabotage our standing and so I would hope that the county would look at things like we were talking about property taxes, Ron Davis had asked about county appraisals, if txi looked into that.
i was wondering if anybody looked at the county level, if txi or the owners of the land paid their property taxes.
because I understand that they lease the land.
also, if anybody on the Commissioners court knows if they are enjoying an ag exemption on this land.
there are a lot of things that were not looked at, but the list is too numerous to account, but hopefully many citizens will show up the next time and be the largest crowd ever seen in Travis County on this issue next time it comes up hopefully.
thank you.

>> thank you, mr.
priest.
anybody else for citizens communication whether you signed in or not?
