Travis County Commissioners Court

December 15, 2009,
Item 22

View captioned video.

now let's call to order the -- back to order the voting session of the Travis County Commissioners court.
we do have an item dealing with the debt service model.
Commissioner Davis expressed a keen interest in that previously.
all of us have been briefed on it.
my recommendation would be to spend a little more time on it next week if we want to.
but let's hold off until Commissioner Davis gets here.
if he wants to get a report today, we can do that.
otherwise we'll have it back on next week.
okay?
And there's joe geiselman.
item 22, known as the joe geiselman does not like hays county item.

>> [laughter] 22, consider and take appropriate action on Travis County position on Texas department of transportation plans regarding proposed improvement to fm 1626 and 968 in hays county to brodie lane in Travis County.
for the record, I should state that judge sumter and I were on one of those campo subcommittees yesterday and she and I chatted about a resolution that is being worked on, and after we put ours in I guess final shape yesterday, I did scan her a copy of our -- of what we had before us.
and so hopefully the hays county people add that.
i asked my assistant to e-mail Commissioner barton a copy also.
this was all done about 6:00 as the county judge was working late for the people of Travis County.
so I don't know whether -- whether we e-mailed it or not, but hopefully Commissioner barton has that as well as judge sumter.
joe?

>> I don't have a coach your resolution so I can't speak to it.

>> what?
that same person who was supposed to send all those people in hays county was supposed to send to joe.

>> judge, I move approval.

>> [laughter]

>> what we kind of did was really focus in on the hays county projects and how they might adversely affect brodie and Travis County roads.
a little bit more of that than some of the other stuff.
motion and second?

>> yeah, motion and second.

>> do you want to say a little about it or is it all right?
does it speak for itself?

>> I think it speaks for itself.
the concern that I think -- I know I personally have is txdot get a message here that there are some needs connected to these improvements on 1626 which we know are important to hays county and their traffic safety and congestion issues in hays county, but having that road widened without addressing how it comes into Travis County, which is txdot's responsibility, is propose mattic for us.
that's the purpose of this resolution from my standpoint.

>> what we can do, joe, is after court today, we can give you a -- the draft that we revised so you can clearly see them as well takes finished product.

>> do you want me to -- at this point it looks like this is ready for signature.
i don't have to do anything other with it than transmit to txdot.

>> I think and probably send hays county a copy of the signed resolution.

>> that will be fine.
i'll do that.

>> any more discussion?
all in favor?
that passes by unanimous vote.
with Commissioner Davis temporarily off the dais.
