approve proclamation declaring the month of November, 2009 as "pulmonary hypertension awareness month" in Travis County.
mr.
nellis, the proclamation reads whereas November is national pulmonary hypertension awareness month.
whereas pulmonary hypertension, h.h., is a simplified name for a complex life threatening health problem, consisting of continuous high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery in the lungs resulting in an enlarged heart, that can lose its ability to pump, whereas it is the hope of all of those in the p.h.
community through advocacy, awareness, support and education, one day a cure will be found, and whereas, lisa roberts has organized the Travis County fun walk for a cure on the morning of November 7th, 2009, that's this coming Saturday, at 5335 airport boulevard, Austin, Texas, to benefit pulmonary arterial hypertension research and patient education, to which everyone is invited.
now therefore be it resolved that the Travis County Commissioners court proclaims the month of November, 2009, as pulmonary hypertension awareness month in Travis County.
and we encourage all residents to learn more about pulmonary hypertension and support efforts to find a cure for this deadly disease.

lisa roberts is not able to attend this morning.
but she will attend the event on Saturday, the Travis County fun walk for a cure and she has sent her appreciation to all of the members of the court for your financial support to help us get this first annual fun walk put together and to increase the public awareness of this dreaded disease that takes the life of so many people.
the event, again, is this Saturday, November the 7th, and it will be located at 5335 airport boulevard.
the registration will go between 9:00 and 10:00, the walk will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
there will be a lunch raffle from 11:30 to 12:30.

everybody is welcome to attend the event and we do hope to build each year on the awareness of -- of p.h.
lisa did send an e-mail on which we wanted to basically give a lot of appreciation to all of the people that have helped in organizing this event.
on my right, jessica rio, on my left chris broussard have been instrumental from p.b.o.
in helping us get it organized.
there can't be too many thanks for all of the people from star flight, kc and willie and danny, that have -- have been involved with lisa from the very beginning of this challenge.
we are looking forward to a lot of people coming out and learning more about p.h.
