Travis County Commissioners Court
October 13, 2009,
Citizens Communication
Citizens communication is next.
and this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda.
two residents are signed in.
gus pena, number one.
and ronnie reeferseed, number two.
>> good morning, judge, Commissioners, gus pena.
native east Austin night.
i understand from today's paper I want to thank, first of all, ben wear of the Austin american-statesman, lee nickels of the chronicle, they have been doing a great job of educating the taxpayers as the lack of ongoings at capital metro and the fiasco, I call it the fiduciary fiasco at capital metro.
may the lord forgive me, I want to be nice to people, I want people to be nice to me, fred gilliam is on his way out.
doug allen is the new interim.
his temporary promotion includes a salary increase of almost 21% from $188,000 to $227,000.
i mean, this just doesn't get it, folks, not even on an interim basis.
this elected body also ask the city council, mayor, to have a task force be included in the process.
i know that it's -- it's -- it's proprietary issue, personal issues, I know I'm a former eeo investigator, I know that it's very secretive, very confidential process.
nonetheless, you have to have public participation, also, and see that we get good individual at capital metro.
i mean, having the city lose close to $90,000 and say, oh, yeah, we're going to have a payment plan.
how in the heck can you have a payment plan to pay back the city of Austin $90 million, that's criminal.
i'm glad public safety went over there, law enforcement went over there to investigate whatever.
i don't know, Margaret, I don't know what happened over there.
i'm glad they're going to do that.
we need to have a comprehensive tool there to be -- to have transparency.
we need an outside independent audit.
a good one.
there's a lot of things going on over there.
i'm not dumb.
i know what's going on over there.
anyway, capital metro, I would request respectfully that mr.
jim skaggs be considered as the new capital metro c.e.o./cfo, whatever the title is now, so many titles, to bring transparency, comprehensive accountability to this agency.
veterans, veterans I understand from washington d.c.
my contacts with the secretary of veterans affairs, mr.
-- secretary shinseke, vietnam veteran, that there is going to be an improvement of veterans health care not only here in Austin, but temple, all of the v.a.
facilities, an audit taking place.
a lot of us veterans don't qualify.
if you are not retired, not medically disabled by wounds or whatever, you don't get even dental care.
we're veterans.
anyway, that will help reduce the loads at the clinics, et cetera.
immunizations, I want to thank ms.
colleen christian, the Austin health and human services.
i called in haste to -- I think it was about 4:00 in the afternoon last Wednesday, supposed to be an immunization program at reagan high school, I said please let me know what time so I can inform the people, started calling.
calling christian, called me at about 8:00 at nighttime on a Friday, supposed to take place on a Saturday.
and she's the health educator for the city of Austin health department.
she gave me the information.
i started calling like crazy 972-5244, I understand not too many flu shots are available for the regular flu, h1n1, I'm going to tell people this.
it's very serious.
the influenza is very serious.
a lot of people are down playing it the don't want to cause a frenzy.
we want to educate the people to immunize their children.
from one to 26, especially senior citizens, get your immunizations because this is scary.
i don't mean to scare anybody.
>> [speaking in spanish] anyway latinos in the 2010 count --
>> [speaking in spanish] all I said in spanish was make your voice count.
we need to get you counted in the census, thank you very much, have a good day.
thank you.
>> thank you, mr.
pena.
mr.
reeferseed.
>> thank you.
thank you, mayor.
i'm ronnie reeferseed.
>> mayor.
>> saying refuse experimental vaccines, people.
but rejoice in the delusion of hype.
gosh once again those crazy norwegians have redefined peace.
not to be confused with the previous peace prize winner like henry kissinger and menacham began, this year it was clearly and obviously mistakenly given to our own ego tripping war criminal in training bankster stooge obama who unlike bush, obama openly opines that at least 50,000 of our very own troops will forever remain in iraq.
to help them somehow be better iraqis.
meanwhile, to also help those pesky afghanis grow hemp marijuana and most of the world's opium, our brave troops now guard those pop piece, so as to show our nation's preference of one group of illegal drug thugs over another group of illegal drug thugs.
wake up people, that's the blood of our soldiers watering those crops over there.
instead overnight obama could really earn this nobel prize for peace by unilaterally declaring absolute freedom for farmers right here at home.
suddenly illegal drug thugs worldwide will forever lose power and influence to freedom loving farmers.
that's right.
freedom loving family farmers can be free to help feed our hungry future while maintaining our traditional family values on family farms.
instead now family farms are being forever sacrificed on the alter of monsanto and other illegal schemes.
that's right, people, monsanto the corporate home of true evil is -- satanic in nature.
freedom for farmers is the best tool to help save our world, feed our future, help lib rat those organized crime thugs from those ill gotten gains to help family farms survive forever.
today and every week day, right here in Austin we can all listen for free to alex jones on 90.1 f.m., 24/7 online, anyone can hear alex jones visit www.infowars.com, click listen to the show and online I suggest visiting american freepress.net.

thank you so much.
>> thank you, mr.
reeferseed.
i believe you mistakenly referred to me as mayor
>> [laughter] I accept the designation.
and as an Austin resident, with both titles, my theme will be more and better collaboration.
between the city and Travis County.
>> yay!
>>
>> [ applause ]
>> you're welcome, sir.
>> [laughter]
>> anybody else for citizens communication whether you signed in or not?
