Number 8 is to review and discuss six-month report on usage of procurement card by the Travis County purchasing office.

>> good morning, judge and Commissioners.
we received the cards in April.
we've made 16 purchasings totaling $6,026.
the average purchase is about $375.
we're using the card only for vendors that will not accept purchase orders and for some internet purchases.
we did during the h1n1 flu scare used the card to expedite purchases of disinfectants and hand sanitizers which came in handy for us.
we have had no major issues.
there's always accounting and invoice issues that the auditor and my office work very well together to get those issues resolved.
so that's -- that's what we've done, and it's -- it is a good tool.
we wouldn't want to do it for the entire county because there's a lot of accounting involved in it.

>> do you see a significant increase probably in this type of usage?

>> no, sir.
over -- over those months we've only spent about $6,000.

>> pardon me?

>> we've only spent $6,000 on all those purchases.

>> so you haven't seen -- you don't anticipate a significant increase as far as the use of this particular --

>> no.
i mean it depends.
i mean if you look at the internet, more and more things are being bought over the internet and they don't, so there could in that sense.
but we still try to buy things, a lot of our things on term contracts and those contracts are supposed to accept our purchase orders.

>> you did suggest there was a problem that you were able to iron out between you and the auditor and I guess that was -- I don't know what the problem exactly is --

>> well, invoicing.
writing on the invoice that it was a procurement card purchase so they don't pay it twice.
it was just logistical things that we deal with every day actually and it's a change for the department to get them used to the change.

>> right.

>> so far so good.

>> questions?

>> move approval.

>> there's no action, just an update.

>> thank you.

>> thank you.
