Travis County Commissioners Court
September 15, 2009,
Item A2
Can we call up A-2.
to the county clerk's items next.
a 2 is another sort of similar proclamation but I've been closer to home.
i did -- I did --
>> let me just explain that it was a good idea.
>> a 2 is part of the capcog, central Texas council of government's efforts to -- to help protect our seniors and in this process they highlight the -- the great likelihood of seniors suffering from -- from -- from a fall.
this is intended to promote safety.
and -- and basically September 21st through 25th, 2009, is fall prevention awareness week in Travis County.
and we join the other nine counties in central Texas, and this came out of the recent capcog meeting.
wednesday of last week.
and all of the members of the executive committee committed to go back to their respective counties and adopt a similar resolution and it really is important and it's amazing how many of our older texans and central texans are victims to various falls throughout the year.
this is intended to give some of the simple things that we can do to help our seniors remain healthy and prevent falls.
i'm happy to say that we have taken the wise decision of naught on consent already.
-- of putting that on consent already.
okay.
