>> 16.

>> a 1, plan to take into executive session.
16 I was hoping would go away but it hasn't.
16 is to consider and take appropriate action on request from a local business person to set up and operate a hot dog vending cart on Travis County property located at 5501 airport boulevard.

>> good afternoon, facility management department.
Commissioner directed facility to survey the entrance of the vending cart services.
and fnd contacted the employee and manager and received response back from 142 employee manager supervisors out of the employees there, more than 300 people.
out of the 142 responding, we have 81 that were in support.
five were not in support.
and 56 have no opinion.
in terms of percentage, it's 57 percent of the respondants are in support of the hot dog stand.
four percent are against, 39 percent no opinion.
with those surveyed we got some comments.
i would like to share a couple comments on this.
some comments to the survey response include a position that the hot dogs are high in sodium and fat and as such are not healthy eating choices came from the women's clinic and other 32 responders included request to add different type of food.
15 requested healthy option with the vending cart.
the second charge we had is to locate the optimum location for the vending cart.
and with it lots of looking around.
and the best place we have it in your backup and map.
it shows that the proposed vending location should be next to the creek, all the way to the north side in the green area under the trees.
so this way stay away from the congestion to the buildings and from the parking issues, parking perspective.
i think that is a location we can point to right there would be in your backup.
so those are the two charges we come back to you.
if approved by the court, if approved by the court, then we will work with purchasing department to draft the request for proposal to move forward with that.

>> so what will the county get out of this now?
the monetary offer was quite moddest.
so it's convenience more than anything else for pleas who may want to go by and get lunch there.
right?

>> that is correct.

>> I agree with the doctor.
it's not the healthiest food.
but I have seen worse.
if we did a rfp, maybe we should ask for healthy food.

>> that's right.

>> I don't know that you have to be there all day, but on salads even in a portable facility you can bring this in 11-1, can't you?

>> appears to me with that limited space, there's only so many vendors that can occupy that location.
so it appears to me we need to really concentrate on how many vendors that we'll be able to facilitate the employ ees out there.
you know, I really don't know the inalfootage next to the creek on the north side of that between the building and the ott other part of the county.
but there has to be space situations.
looking at the number of vendors that will be able to locate.

>> how many can be accommodated on that space.

>> I don't know.

>> eight here.
if you have some pace for the cart, it can go up to four.

>> how many?

>> four.

>> at least four?

>> four carts.
with some space between.

>> yes.
another that , element that may need to go in there.

>> any discussion with regard to a rfp and target amount?
like a floor below which we would no the go to have a license agreement for that space?

>> I am not sure specifics have been discussed.
i agree last time there has to be some sort of consideration to the account.

>> perhaps we should consider dropping a floor below which we--developing a floor below which we would not go and a type of food or variety that we would be targeting.

>> makes sense to me.

>> what we would get on return of what we are doing.
as far as two monetary wise.

>> who is our food guru at the county?

>> the wellness committee?

>> I think somebody ought to take a look at that.
woo e request that they have, I have no problem with hot dogs, but I think there ought to be some more healthy stuff available for pleas--employ ees who want it.
the wellness clinic is there at the location.
they may well educate plea--employ ees on better choices.
the other thing, I guess when you think about the time generally, if it's fresh, just won't keep forever.
i don't know that we ought to promote somebody being there all day every day.
the waud--window is really 11-1.
that is a long lunch hour.
let's ask roger to check with the wellness committee and come back at the appropriate time.
and let ms.
goldberg know we have not forgotten her request.
we are working on it and trying to get her a little competition.

>> will do.

>> thank you, roger.

>> two weeks?
two weeks good?

>> yes.

>> okay with the court?
okay.
