Travis County Commissioners Court
August 11, 2009,
Citizens Communication
We announced previously that we would have to postpone number 2 because of our medical examiner is out of town, citizens communication is next.
this item gives residents an opportunity to address the court on any matter not on the agenda for up to three minutes.
craig griffin has signed in.
he's number one, ronnie reeferseed number two and morris priest number 3.
mr.
griffin, if you would come forth and just give us your full name for the record, we would be happy to get your comments.
right in the middle there is fine.
right between those two gentlemen.
>> good morning, my name is craig griffin, I live in govalle.
i came today about a woman that I have never met, I do not know, but it was on discussion last week, ms.
perez.
when I moved to govalle, I was talking to a -- to something about judge Biscoe, he immediately asked me if I knew ms.
perez, I didn't know what was going on until I saw it on tv last week.
as I said, I don't know her.
>> [indiscernible] why she was dismissed, I can understand that.
the bothersome part of it all to me is how she was dismissed.
12 hours leave.
i have seen that kind of thing happen to so many others, so many different ways.
um ...
i feel a lot of things happen in this town that happened in the town I left.
more and more people, the bus service gets cut back, more and more people try to
>> [indiscernible] get hustled out of meetings when they try to talk.
personally I am here probably until I find somewhere else to go.
i left birmingham for this reason.
you want to know where it leads, go to birmingham, alabama, look what's going on there.
they are throwing people out right and left.
the economy is shot, most of them are going to federal prison now, thank you.
all right.
>> thank you, mr.
griffin.
>> mr.
reeferseed.
>> thank you.
i'm ronnie reeferseed.
a little addition there.
>> [blowing]
>> everyone erupts worldwide about the obama deadly advice, the top science advisor has written several books for several decades about humans, death, forced sterilization as the key components to their scheme for managing future life on our garden planet.
guess what people, real or imagined flu, so called pandemics are mechanisms planned for in textbooks to force us all to take more potentially tainted vaccinations from like governor slick perry's evil guardasil that has already killed many girls.
sound familiar?
the time is now to be favored, fearfully afraid, aware of such evil schemes pushed by our own secret rulers like the so-called
>> [indiscernible] group of elites, from royalty, business, media a few evil politicians, truly evil, slick clem trader as one such evil politician as is slick perry as is joe build a burger biden.
when biden was chosen to be vice-president I knew we were all here to suffer with israeli intelligence officer rahm emanuel -- many of us knew that our future as a proud constitutional republic was under serious threat.
of course, it doesn't start with joker stooge obama, every president since hoover, including even j.f.k.
had some role to fill in this scheme to destroy our constitution.
don't forget our so-called elected so-called leaders all take oaths to defend and protect our constitution from enemies foreign and domestic not to defend their political careers and parties, especially not to defend that bigoted criminal socialistic totalityism regime israel.
political gridlock, to limit expansion of government was ski to our system of checks and balances.
because our brilliant founding fathers knew that even the best people are corruptible.
grid block is good.
not something to be solved.
our sacred constitution is precious because it not only acknowledges all of the natural rights under natural law of life, liberty the pursuit of happiness, our constitution is precious because it limit his our government's powers to inflict each other with mob rule.
that's the difference between so-called democracies in our constitutional republic.
that's what the rule of law means.
adherence to our sacred constitution.
not potential tyranny from the trendy whims and/or wishes of the masses exploited by swift ego tripping schemed prostitutes of political power.
yet it does inevitably corrupt everybody ...

>> thank you.
mr.
priest?
>> thank you, judge, Commissioners, morris priest for the record.
i just wanted to say that I was really proud of our members of the Commissioners court last night at the campo board, our county judge and Commissioner Huber, Commissioner Eckhardt, for their fine job of representing the other county Commissioners on this board by not wanting to vote on the joint powers resolution and so I just want to -- Commissioner Davis and Commissioner Gomez to know that they certainly have -- have your best interests at heart as well as the county's and your constituents by not wanting to vote on this joint powers agreement without having y'all to be able to look at it as well.
so I thought that was really admirable, I appreciate you, judge, for doing that.
the -- the citizens communication section was -- had a change that earlier it would have -- I thought it wasn't going to be on there, but one of the things did alter citizens communication.
and I would hope that the Commissioners court and I'll leave a copy of this with Sarah Eckhardt, let her give it to everybody else in this court, I do want the -- the court to not vote on the garber amendment as I call it.
you know the one that I'm talking about.
so I would like if you did vote -- whatever you all vote on that, to exclude that because it is a -- as I stated, our county Commissioners court has a good reputation.
probably the best that I know of in the country.
if not the world.
of allowing our citizens to speak.
and I think that the city of Austin has probably got the worst example of how they treat citizens when they come to communicate to them.
and I think that campo is gravitating or leaning toward the style of citizens communication that the city of Austin has and I think this amendment, you know, demonstrates that.
but I do hope that -- that we will keep john trevino in our prayers.
i know that he wasn't there last night, health issues.
and -- but I did want to come up here and say that I appreciate Margaret Gomez, your work on capital metro board and your work, judge Biscoe, here and at campo and our Commissioners because -- because we do have a government here in our county that -- that does allow citizens to come up and speak and I think that -- that should be recognized, but I think, also, that we need to make some changes at the city, in our city management and in our -- in our city council.
to -- to -- to make sure that we have -- that we have fair hearings instead of coming to a meeting and being told that you don't have standing and all that -- different ways that they use at the city council level to keep people from speaking.
whether it's that you don't have standing or making the rules where it's difficult for people to sign up and speak
>> [buzzer sounding] so I hope that we can get those changes made in the future.
thank you.
>> thank you.
>> thank you.
